BMS, Kisan Sangh march to Delhi on November 25

Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and Bharatiya Kisan Sangh are jointly organising a march to Parliament in Delhi on November 25 to register their protest against the fallout of WTO agreements and also against the anti-people economic policies of the UPA government. This was stated by Shri Baba Takwale, general secretary of the Kisan Sangh, and Shri Raviraman, secretary of the BMS, at a press conference held in Jaipur recently. Baba Takwale said the WTO thinks only for the benefit of developed nations and India has suffered a major loss due to it. He said the growing financial deficit and price hike have badly affected daily wagers and pensioners.
BMS enrolls four lakh workers in Orissa

Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has enrolled over four lakh workers from unorganised sectors of Orissa during the last three years. The information was given by Shri Krishna Chand Mishra, all India joint organising secretary of BMS, at a meeting organised at Rairangpur recently. Shri Ramprakash Mishra, all India vice president of BMS, Shri Gokulananda Jena, State general secretary, Shri Pratap Panda, joint general secretary and organising secretaries from 30 districts were also present at the meeting.
Madhav Kripa hostel inaugurated
Shri Ramlal, Kshetra Pracharak of RSS, inaugurated Madhav Kripa hostel in Barreilly recently. The hostel has been constructed at Veer Savarkar Nagar for the students of northeastern States. Shri Ramlal called upon the Sangh Swayamsevaks to become guardians of the students of the hostel. Talking about the activities of Christian missionaries in the northeast, he said the Sangh had decided to prevent any conspiracy in the region. He pointed out that the Sangh had adopted over 10,000 students from these States. The function was presided over by Dr Keshav Aggarwal. There are 19 students from Assam at the hostel and 90 more are to be accommodated.
Symposium on Vedic mathematics

An all India symposium on Vedic mathematics was organised in Barelli by Vidya Bharati. About 54 experts of Vedic Mathematics from 10 regions of Vidya Bharati participated in the symposium. A detailed discussion was held on the syllabus from first to 12th standards in different sessions. Dr B.P. Khoti form Ujjain, Dr Kailash Vishwakarma from Hamirpur (UP), Dr Devendra Bhatnagar from Jaipur, Shri Mukka Rajeshwar from Andhra Pradesh, Prof. Indrajit Singh from Gurgaon and Dr Devi Prasad Verma from Patna presented papers at the symposium. It was revealed that libraries on Vedic mathematics have already been opened in Delhi, Raipur and Bhopal and move is on to open more libraries in Jaipur, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Patna, Ghaziabad and Bhubneshwar soon. Shri M. Rajendran of Dakshin Kshetra has also launched a website on Vedic mathematics-vedicmathsinstitute.com. Shri Shantanu Raghunath Shende, general secretary of Vidya Bharati, was present on the occasion.

ABVP march in AMU

Protesting against the increase in religious quota in admission at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), thousands of activists of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and other nationalist organisations took out a march from Ramlila grounds of Aligarh to the University. The agitators crossed all barricades erected by the local police and reached near the bus stand. Later, They were arrested by the police and taken to Krishnajali Playhouse. But a group of protestors successfully entered the AMU premises and shouted slogans against providing reservation on religious grounds. Later, they were arrested by the police. Earlier, addressing the protestors, Shri K.N. Raghunandan, ABVP general secretary, said 50 per cent reservation in AMU was unconstitutional and also against the directions of the Supreme Court. ?It shows the Muslim appeasement policy of the Congress. A large part of the education budget is being diverted to minority educational institutions as well as to Muslim students in the name of scholarship. The youth of the country will throw this government away as they had thrown the British government,? he said and added the government was distorting the education of the country and misleading the students. He further said the Prime Minister of the country was also infected by this virus that was why he praised the British rule in the country. The national secretary, Shri Dharmpal Singh said if reservation was increased, the AMU would become an exclusive institution for a particular community. He said that AMU is a national property and it runs on the annual government donation of about Rs 250 crore. Therefore it could not be a minority institution, he said. Shriniwas Chaturvedi, president, Benaras Student Union and Shri Bhupesh, ABVP secretary of eastern Uttar Pradesh also addressed the meeting.
Premnath Sharma passes away

Senior BMS Pracharak, Premnath Sharma passed away in Pune on September 13. He was cremated at Baikunth Dham crematorium in Pune on September 15. Born on December 25, 1928, at Dera Bassi village of Patiala, he had been a Sangh Swayamsevak since childhood. He was a member of the national executive of BMS and was also looking after the work of Vishwakarma Sanket, the official organ of the BMS. RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri K.S. Sudarshan and Sarkaryavah Shri Mohan Bhagwat expressed their condolence. In his tribute Shri Sudarshan said: ?Premnath Sharmaji has also left us. He was among the second-generation workers of the Sangh. I know him since 1953 when we met at the Sangh Shiksha Varga in Nagpur. Premnath Sharma became a Sangh Pracharak in 1946, he had to lose one of his hands during the Partition. Despite losing one hand, he successfully did all the physical exercises, besides Yogachap and shool, at the Varga. He expanded the Sangh work in undivided Punjab for years and later joined the BMS in 1967. I pay my humble tribute to the departed soul and pray to the Almighty to grant strength to the Swayamsevaks and lakhs of BMS workers to bear the loss and also to work for the motherland till their last breath.?
