Centenary year of Banga-bhanga movement
Countrywide awareness campaign from July 21

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has taken up a countrywide awareness campaign from July 21 to August 15 to apprise the countrymen of the successful anti-Banga-bhanga movement, which was fought unitedly by all communities. Under the campaign, the Sangh Swayamsevaks, as per plans of their respective Prants, will organise seminars, discussions, etc to tell the people about the relevance of the movement in today'sperspective. According to Shri Indresh Kumar, Akhil Bharatiya Sah-Sampark Pramukh of RSS, the movement, launched in 1905, had forced the British government to withdraw its plan to divide Bengal in 1911. ?The movement had become so strong that the British government not only had to replace Lord Curzon with Lord Hardinge and but also had to change its capital from Calcutta to Delhi. The united fight on part of the countrymen did not allow partition of a province of the country. What we need to realise today is that what went wrong that after only 36 years the country was divided in 1947 on communal line?? he said, adding that the awareness of national spirit was the guarantee of country'sunity and integrity and not the path of compromises or give-and-take policy. ?In this centenary year of Banga-bhanga movement, if all countrymen move forward unitedly, it will not only solve most of the problems the country is facing today, but can also reintegrate the country, which was divided in 1947,? Shri Indresh Kumar said.
Sewa Bharati sends 40,000 saris for Vanvasi women
Under its drive to provide clothes to deprived Vanvasi women of the country, Sewa Bharati, Delhi, has sent over 40,000 new saris and clothes for Vanvasi children. The saris have been sent to different parts of the country. Giving this information, Shri Premchand Goel, Akhil Bharatiya Sewa Pramukh, said that the Delhi unit of Sewa Bharati had decided to collect at least one lakh saris and similar drives would be taken up in other states also. ?The Sewa Bharati feels that our privileged society should have the feeling to look after our deprived society. It is with this view that the campaign has been launched,? he added.
Prem Kumar is new Prant Pracharak of Delhi

Shri Prem Kumar, who was Prant Pracharak of Himachal Pradesh, is the new Prant Pracharak of Delhi. He will be assisted as Sah-Prant Pracharak by Shri Krishna Kumar Baveja. Shri Baveja has been engaged in writing in Delhi. He has recently compiled a book in Hindi on second RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Guruji, Shri Guruji?Vyaktitva evam krititva, According to Shri Dinesh Kumar, Uttar Kshetra Pracharak, Shri Ashok Prabhakar, who was Prant Pracharak of Delhi, will now look after the work of Hindu Jagaran Manch. Shri Suresh Jain, who was Sah-Prant Pracharak of Delhi, will be Sah-Prant Pracharak of Haryana Prant. Shrinivas Moorti will be the new Prant Pracharak of Himachal Pradesh. Shri Arun Kumar who was looking after the Sangh work in Haryana will look after the Sangh work in Jammu & Kashmir Prant as Sah-Prant Pracharak.
Sangh takes serious note of ideological deviation

Shri Ram Madhav, spokesperson of RSS, issued a press statement on July 9 following some reports in media about the RSS Prant Pracharaks meeting held in Surat recently. ?The Prant Pracharaks who assembled at Surat, expressed serious concerns over the ideological erosion, behavioral misdemeanor and violation of organisational discipline with impunity by some functionaries of a couple of like-minded organisations. The Sangh has taken serious note of this and our elders will soon talk to people concerned and convey Sangh'sreservations,? the statement said.
VHP condemns terrorist attacks in London

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in London. In a letter written to British High Commissioner in New Delhi, the VHP president Shri Ashok Singhal said that the VHP was shocked and pained at the attacks in London and cold-bloodedly targeting the underground railway network and the surface public transport. The VHP, the largest Hindu organisation of the world, and over one billion strong Hindu population of the world, which suffered a suicidal jehadi terrorist strike on Shri Ramjanmabhoomi on July 5, offered their sympathy to the British victims and their families. ?It is high time that all civilised states gave up double standards in dealing with terrorism and took a combined formidable stand against it and its supporters and enacted anti-terrorist legislations with more teeth, established specially trained anti-terrorist fighter units, took support from all well-meaning individuals, groups, organisations the world over, and sometimes met terrorism with terrorism. It is now apparent that the jehadi terrorist network is a globally observable fact and possesses the capability, resources and contacts to target any corner of the world at any time. Vishwa Hindu Parishad International extends its fullest cooperation to the combined forces of the societies and the governments of the world in their fight against the plague of terrorism. It also urges the VHP chapters in different countries of the world, including that in Britain, to join hands with the forces fighting terrorism globally and locally,? the letter said. The letter was also signed by Dr Pravin Togadia, general secretary, and Acharya Giriraj Kishore, member, VHP advisiory Board.
