Ceremonial lamp lighting at the commencement of meeting of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti’s Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarini and Pratinidhi Mandal
Samalkha (Panipat), July 24, 2026: The first half-yearly three-day meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarini and Pratinidhi Mandal of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti commenced at Madhav Smriti Parisar, Samalkha, Haryana, in the presence of Pramukh Sanchalika Shantakka Ji and Pramukh Karyavahika Sita Gayatri Ji.
The meeting began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by tributes to the late former Akhil Bharatiya Sah Karyavahika of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Rukmini Akka Ji, and Rekhatai Raje Ji. Homage was also paid to other departed Samiti workers, eminent personalities including Asha Ji Bhosle, Suman Kalyanpur, and S. Janaki Ji, as well as to fellow countrymen killed in terrorist attacks, soldiers who laid down their lives, and those who lost their lives in accidents and natural calamities.
Pramukh Karyavahika Sita Gayatri Ji said that Bharat possesses the human and financial resources necessary to move towards Viksit Bharat. However, she said, there is a need to awaken the spirit of understanding this strength and dedicating it at the feet of Rashtra Dev. Referring to the birth anniversary of Vandaniya Lakshmibai Kelkar (Mousi Ji), observed as Sankalp Diwas, she called upon the participants to reaffirm their resolve to carry forward uninterrupted the mission of women’s awakening through the Samiti, which has continued for the past 90 years.
She further said that the Bharatiya aircraft carrying medical assistance to Iran is a living example of the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. She also noted that Bharat’s gold medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad and the country’s impressive victory in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup reflect Bharat’s growing influence across diverse fields.
Around 500 Sevika representatives from 38 Prants are participating in the meeting. During the inaugural session, Pramukh Karyavahika Sita Gayatri Ji presented a report on the Samiti’s activities and reviewed the annual Shiksha Vargas. She informed that there has been growth in the number of Samiti branches, Milan Kendras, branch-based districts, and service activities.
At present, service activities are being carried out at 2,866 locations across the country. These initiatives are undertaken through various projects in the fields of education, value-based orientation, self-reliance, and healthcare, while yoga centres are also being run. During 2026, a total of 250 training camps were organised across the country, in which approximately 15,241 Sevikas received training.
This year, after a long interval, Sevikas in Bengal organised a Path Sanchalan. During the Shiksha Varg in Jammu, despite heavy rain and strong winds, the Sevikas remained steadfast on the ground, displaying remarkable courage.
During the Pramukh Sanchalika’s visit to Chhattisgarh Prant, a Samajik Sadbhav meeting was organised with women from nearly 25 different communities.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Rashtra Sevika Samiti, in collaboration with the Bharatiya Vidwat Parishad, organised the “Nari Se Narayani” conference at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, in which more than 1,500 women from across the country participated. The concluding session was graced by the guidance of President Droupadi Murmu.
The meeting at Samalkha is being attended by office-bearers from various organisational levels and will conclude on July 26.
