Several complaints during the week alleged that Hindu girls and women were befriended by Muslim men who had concealed their religious identities or used false Hindu names to gain their trust. According to the allegations contained in police complaints and FIRs, victims were subsequently subjected to emotional manipulation, blackmail using private photographs and videos, sexual exploitation, physical assault, and pressure to convert to Islam or enter into Nikah. In some cases, complainants also alleged attempts to isolate victims from their families, while social media platforms and fake online profiles were reportedly used to establish initial contact.
The incidents documented during the week also include allegations involving minor girls, suspected organised conversion networks, financial extortion, suspicious deaths, judicial proceedings, and ongoing police investigations. In one case, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted to probe allegations of large scale religious conversions and financial irregularities, while in another, the Madhya Pradesh High Court delivered an order concerning maintenance in a case involving concealment of religious identity.
Collectively, these reported incidents highlight allegations that have repeatedly surfaced in different regions, where Hindu girls are lured into relationships, taken away from their homes, sexually exploited, blackmailed through private photographs or videos, and in some instances pushed towards drug abuse or prostitution. The detailed 11 incidents of love jihad and conversion, are given below.
1. Muslim Youths Pressured Minor Hindu Girl to Convert, Sent Messages About Taking Her to Doha
A police complaint was lodged in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, after a 13 year old Hindu minor girl was pressured to convert to Islam. According to the complaint filed by the victim’s father, his daughter attended dance classes where she came into contact with a Muslim woman. Subsequently, some Muslim youths pressured her to undergo religious conversion and sent messages on her mobile phone stating that she would be taken to Doha, Qatar, for conversion. Police took five accused into custody in connection with the case.
2. Muslim Man Arrested for Concealing Identity, Blackmailing Hindu Woman, and Extorting Rs 8 Lakh
A Muslim man was arrested in Umaria, Madhya Pradesh, after concealing his identity by applying a tilak on his forehead and befriending a Hindu woman as Abhishek Singh Parihar. The victim stated that the two became friends in 2025, after which she discovered that his real name was Haroon Khan. She alleged that he threatened to circulate her objectionable photographs and videos and blackmailed her into paying approximately Rs 8 lakh. Acting on the victim’s complaint, police registered a case against Dr. Haroon Khan, a resident of Chandia, and sent him to jail.
3. SIT Formed to Probe Religious Conversion of Thousands of Hindu Men and Women and Financial Irregularities at Muzaffarnagar Madrasa
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted to investigate allegations of religious conversion and financial irregularities at Darul Uloom Rahimiya Madrasa in Phulat, Muzaffarnagar. Swami Yashveer Maharaj raised the allegations through a video posted on social media and sought an investigation by central agencies.
Police constituted a joint team comprising the SP (Rural), the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU), and the local police to conduct the inquiry. Swami Yashveer Maharaj alleged that thousands of people had been converted over the past 20-25 years, claimed that the madrasa possessed assets worth ₹500–600 crore, and demanded a narco test. Police stated that legal action would be taken only after a fair investigation into all the allegations.
4. Love Trap, Blackmail and Conversion Pressure on Minor Girl; Two Accused Arrested
In Kanpur Dehat’s Musanagar police station area, bus driver Mukhtar Ahmed introduced a 14-year-old Hindu schoolgirl to Raj Rain. The two won her over with gifts and a mobile phone, and later used objectionable photos to blackmail her.
On 20 April 2026, they gave the girl a sedative and mixed it into her mother’s food before calling her to a ruined building, where they misbehaved with her and tried to rape her. When she resisted, her photos were circulated on social media and pressure was mounted on her to convert and undergo Nikah.
Police acted promptly and arrested Mukhtar Ahmed and Raj Rain.
5. Hindu Woman Dies by Suicide After Marrying Muslim Man Who Concealed His Identity
A Hindu woman, Suhani, died by suicide in Agra after marrying a Muslim man who had concealed his religious identity. Suhani married a man identified as Aman in February 2026 after the two fell in love during their college days, and the marriage took place with the consent of both families.
According to the complaint, tensions gradually arose after the marriage, following which Suhani’s parents came to know that Aman was Afraar and belonged to the Abu Muslim community. They alleged that he had concealed his religion and posed as a Hindu to enter into the relationship. The complaint further alleged that Afraar physically assaulted Suhani on a daily basis after the marriage. Distressed by the circumstances, Suhani died by suicide by hanging herself in her room.
6. Woman Alleges Pressure for Religious Conversion and Nikah, Seeks Protection from SSP
A woman approached the Senior Superintendent of Police in Saharanpur, alleging that the accused had been threatening her despite an FIR already being registered against him at Gangoh police station (Crime No. 175/2026). She alleged that he was pressuring her to withdraw the case and threatening to circulate her obscene photographs and videos on social media if she refused to accept Islam.
The woman further alleged that the accused recently entered her house and brandished a sharp edged weapon. She stated that the incident was captured on CCTV footage.
7. Hindu Woman Found Hanging in Hotel Room After Arriving with Farooq, Family Alleges Murder
A 26 year old Hindu woman, Renuka, a resident of Alwal, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a room at Grand Lodge Hotel in the Langar Houz police station area of Hyderabad on the night of 2 July 2026.
Renuka had arrived at the hotel with her acquaintance, Farooq (34), a resident of Golconda. Farooq claimed that he had stepped out for some time and, upon returning, found Renuka hanging. However, the deceased’s family expressed serious suspicion against Farooq and alleged that the incident was a premeditated murder.
8. Irshad Posed as Vishal, Married Hindu Woman, and Pressured Two Hindu Women for Religious Conversion
Police in Kanpur took Irshad into custody for concealing his identity as “Vishal” to marry Anukrati Pandey, a Hindu woman from Hardoi, and later confining and harassing her after his real identity was revealed.
The victim alleged that Irshad pressured her to undergo religious conversion, consume meat, have their child circumcised, and stop performing Hindu religious practices. She further alleged that he assaulted her and threatened to kill her when she resisted. The complaint also alleged that Irshad had married another Hindu woman and kept her in the same flat while introducing her as his sister.
9. High Court Orders Maintenance for Hindu Woman and Daughter in Case Involving Concealment of Religious Identity and Pressure for Religious Conversion
The Madhya Pradesh High Court directed that a woman and her daughter be paid ₹10,000 per month as maintenance in a case involving a Muslim gym trainer who concealed his religious identity and presented himself as a Hindu to marry the woman.
The case dates back to 2020, when the accused, a member of the Bohra community, married the Hindu woman after concealing his identity until she became pregnant. The woman alleged that she discovered his real identity after finding his Aadhaar card. She further alleged that she was thereafter pressured to accept Islam, subjected to harassment, and threatened with death when she attempted to lodge a complaint.
10. Hindu Woman Found Dead at Karnataka Homestay, Family Accuses Mohammad Sanjeet Ali of Harassment and Murder
Sai Surabhi, a young Hindu woman who had been staying at a homestay near Muddenahalli in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka, for three days, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a case that came to light on 27 June 2026. Surabhi worked as a physiotherapist in Muddenahalli and had informed her family on 27 June 2026 that she was going to attend a satsang.
During a search of the room, police recovered a rope, several tablets, a pillow, and signs of vomit. Injury marks were also found on the deceased’s face. The victim’s mother, Geetha, alleged that Sanjeet Ali, a resident of Kerala, had addicted Surabhi to drugs and that complaints had previously been lodged against him for harassing her. She also accused him of murdering her daughter.
11. Muslim Man Posed as Ankit to Trap Hindu Woman, Accused of Sexual Exploitation and Plot to Sell Her in Mumbai
A case involving the alleged concealment of identity by a Muslim man to trap and sexually exploit a Hindu woman came to light in the Ghamapur police station area of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, on 28 June 2026. Following the incident, activists of the Hindu Dharm Sena reached the police station, protested, and submitted a memorandum seeking strict action against the accused.
The victim alleged that Nek Ali Khan created a fake Facebook profile under the name “Ankit” and trapped her in a relationship, sexually exploiting her for five years. She alleged that after discovering his real identity and pressing him for marriage, the accused took her to Mumbai, where he and his mother confined her and plotted to sell her and force her to perform mujra. The woman stated that she somehow managed to escape and return.
