Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that language should be a medium for communication rather than a barrier to knowledge. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi on Wednesday, Naidu advocated for the promotion of multiple languages while stressing the importance of education in one’s mother tongue. He acknowledged Hindi’s role in national integration but reiterated that knowledge and language are distinct aspects of learning.

“I will promote 10 languages, 5-10 languages in universities. Learn and go work there; they need your services,” Naidu stated, underlining his vision for linguistic diversity in education.

His remarks come amid the controversy sparked by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, who accused the central government of imposing Hindi on non-Hindi-speaking states. In response, several leaders have condemned Stalin’s stance, alleging that he is using the language issue to divert public attention from Tamil Nadu’s deteriorating law and order situation.

Demographic Management and National Interests

Naidu also addressed concerns regarding demographic trends, pointing out that South India’s aging population poses challenges, whereas states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have a younger demographic. He advocated for incentives to encourage families to have more children, emphasizing the need for long-term demographic management rather than strict population control measures.

In New Delhi today, I met with the Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah Ji, Hon’ble Union Finance Minister Smt. @nsitharaman Ji, and Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Shri @nitin_gadkari Ji to discuss key issues and priorities for Andhra Pradesh.

During his visit to the national capital, Naidu also held discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on key issues concerning Andhra Pradesh.
