Agencies on high alert as ISI scripts new ploy to revive Khalistan movement

The pro-Khalistan elements are looking to up the ante and wage an all-out war against India. With the movement finding very less success in Punjab, there is a new game plan on hand whereby these elements could use multiple resources to further their agenda.

Indian Intelligence agencies say that as per inputs these elements will go about things in a two-pronged manner. First and foremost in recent days, they have been indulging in propaganda. They want to be heard in every possible country and hence their propaganda machinery is working overtime.

Operating as three

It is a well-known fact that it is the ISI which is writing the script for these Khalstanis. Without the guidance and blessings of the ISI, the Khalistan movement cannot function.

The ISI has realised that it would require to pool several resources to ensure that the Khalistan movement is taken forward. In the last couple of years, the ISI has brought together the Khalistanis, gangsters and the narcotics smugglers. With the new instructions in place, the ISI expects all of them to work seamlessly so that they are able to achieve the larger cause.

While the propaganda part of it would be headed by the Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), the operations on the ground will see the coming together of the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF).

Recent intercepts and actions have led to the realisation that a major push would be made this time around. There is a lot of activity in the border areas of Amritsar and Jalandhar which has led to the Punjab police being briefed and sensitised about the situation. Taking in account the seriousness of the issue, the DGP of Punjab, Gauravv Yadav held a detailed meeting with the field officer s of his force. During these meetings presentations were also given by the DGP (Internal Security), R N Dhoke, ADGP (Anti-Gangster Task Force) Promod Ban and ADGP (Anti-Narcotics Task Force) Nilabh Kishore.

While the Punjab police have to deal with the narco criminals and gangsters operating in the state, the bigger problem is to tackle elements supporting the locals from abroad. The police were instructed to ensure that proper paperwork and documentation is in place. Further all interrogation and investigation details of those arrested should be provided. These confessions will lead to information as to who is helping them from abroad. If the documentation is in order, then it would be easier to issue Red Corner Notices and also seek their extradition.

Propaganda peaks

The Khalistani elements have been relentless in their targeting of the film ‘Emergency.’ This is part of their agenda to make sure that their voice is heard in Punjab so that the youth get interested in the movement.

At a screening of the film in London, pro-Khalistan elements stormed the theatre and began shouting slogans. This led to the management cancelling the screening of the movie.

Although the people watching the film were petrified, they said that none from the management came to their rescue. These elements distributed pamphlets about Sikh genocide. Further they entered the theatre without purchasing a ticket, which itself makes it clear that they made their way in through force. When the police came in no arrests were carried out. The police said that these people were well within their protest rights.

In another development, the Khalistan Zindabad Force claimed responsibility for the fire that broke out on January 19 at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela. The outfit sent a mail signed by Fateh Singh Bagi in which responsibility for the fire was claimed. Singh is a resident of Tarn Taran and said to be part of the KZF.

However this mail was just an attempt to grab attention as no links to outfit have been found regarding the January 19 incident. The Uttar Police concluded that the fire had been caused due to a gas leakage while making tea. Due to the fire two other gas cylinders burst causing the massive fire.

The false claim by the KZF suggests that they are clearly indulging in propaganda. This is text book what many terror groups do. They claim responsibility for every attack or incident just to grab attention.

Pannun at Trump event

Further their propaganda proscribed terrorist and chief of the Sikhs for Justice, Gurpatwant Singh was present at the inauguration of US President Donald Trump.

Trump took oath of office on January 20 at the 47th President of the United States.

In the video, Pannun can be seen chanting ‘Khalistan Zindabad’ while the rest were cheering Trump on with USA, USA slogans.

However it is clear that Pannun was not invited for the event. He had purchased a ticket to be part of the inauguration inside Capitol Hill.

Pannun has been leading the propaganda wing of the Khalistan movement. Being present at the Donald Trump inauguration is a way to send across the message that he is close to the US administration. He is also trying to suggest that he was invited to the event, but in reality that is not a fact.

Further this development comes in the wake of a probe against a former Indian security official accused of hatching a plot to kill Pannun in New York. The probe was launched under the Joe Biden administration and is ongoing. The Biden administration had however expressed satisfaction over New Delhi’s response to the allegation of the US prosecutors about the involvement of the officials of the government of India in the alleged murder plot.
