Chhattisgarh: Raipur Police detains a passenger following ‘bomb threat’ to Kolkata bound flight

RAIPUR:  Police on Thursday, November 14 detained a passenger in the matter pertaining to the emergency landing of a Kolkata bound flight, said a police official.

A preliminary questioning is underway with the detained passenger, as per the Raipur SSP Santosh Singh.

Earlier today, a flight from Nagpur to Kolkata had made an emergency landing at Swami Vivekananda Mana airport in Chhattisgarh capital following a bomb threat after which the plane was thoroughly checked by the authorities.

Further investigation into the matter is underway and more details are awaited. Notably several domestic/international flights operating from India received hoax bomb threats lately resulting in cancellation of the flights.

Earlier the Mumbai police has also detained a minor from Rajnanadgaon of Chhattisgarh in connection with issuing hoax bomb threats for three Mumbai based international flights. It was later revealed that the minor had created a social media account on the name of one of shopkeepers of his area for issuing bomb threats (With inputs from ANI).
