The 31-year-old, a second-year student specialising in chest medicine, had been on night duty and was last seen on the premises around 2 a.m. Her body was found by an intern who noticed her unresponsive phone and proceeded to the seminar room. The sight that greeted him was harrowing: the doctor’s body was partially covered by a blue bedsheet, with her kurta dishevelled and trousers missing. Nearby, her laptop, notebook, cell phone, and a water bottle were found, adding to the disturbing scene.

The doctor had sustained numerous injuries, including bleeding from her eyes and mouth, and a broken neck.
