Agartala: Up to eleven intruders of Bangladesh and one citizen of India, who is a suspected tout, were detained by the BSF and Government Railway Police at two different Tripura sites. In the late hours of July 11, the Government Railway Police (GRP) detained eight illegal migrants of Bangladesh, one of them was a small child, at the Agartala Railway Station.
According to Tapas Das, the Officer-in-Charge of GRP, they had got information about Bangladeshi nationals crossing the border illegally and targeting to board a train at the Agartala Railway Station. “We have informed our men at train stations and discovered certain individuals in a questionable state based on the inputs. They have been apprehended, and during their initial interrogation, they have disclosed that they are citizens of Bangladesh who entered Tripura unlawfully, the spokesperson added. According to the official, they were travelling to different parts of India in pursuit of employment with forged Indian documents. “They are being questioned by us. There is a specific case that has been filed against them and investigations are on to bust the entire racket.
