In a significant update for NEET(UG) 2024 candidates, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared revised results for 1563 candidates, following a re-test held on June 23 2024. This re-test was conducted in compliance with the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India’s Order dated 13.06.2024 in W.P. (Civil) No. 368 of 2024. As a result of this re-test, the ranks of all candidates who appeared for NEET(UG) 2024 have been revised accordingly.
The revised score cards, including those for the 1563 candidates who participated in the re-test, are now available on the official NTA website. Candidates are advised to log in to the website (https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/) to view, download, and print their updated score cards.
The re-test was conducted from 02:00 P.M. to 05:20 P.M on June 23 2024, with a total of 813 candidates appearing for the exam. Following the re-test, provisional answer keys, OMR answer sheets, and recorded responses were displayed to the candidates on June 28, 2024. The NTA invited challenges to the provisional answer keys from the candidates, which were then reviewed by a panel of experts.
After thorough verification and processing, the final answer keys were published on the NTA website. The results were processed based on these final answer keys, ensuring accuracy and fairness in the revised scores. Candidates are encouraged to promptly check their revised scores and ranks by visiting the NTA’s official examination portal. This update marks a crucial step in ensuring the transparency and reliability of the NEET(UG) 2024 examination process.
On June 28, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Dr. Ehsaan Ul Haq and Imtiaz Alam, the principal and vice principal of Oasis School in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, in connection with the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case. Dr. Haq had been appointed city coordinator for the exam by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The previous day, the CBI arrested two individuals, Manish Prakash and Ashutosh, in Patna, Bihar. They allegedly arranged accommodations and transported students to a school for exam preparation. These arrests mark the first in the NEET paper leak investigation.
The CBI recently took over the NEET-UG paper leak case in Patna, a cheating case in Godhra, Gujarat, and three impersonation cases in Rajasthan. President Droupadi Murmu emphasised the government’s commitment to a thorough investigation and strict punishment for those involved.
The NTA faces criticism and protests over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exam, with demands for its disbandment. The Supreme Court has sought a response from the NTA regarding claims of inconsistent mark calculation and scheduled a hearing for July 8.
Multiple petitions have been filed seeking the recall of NEET-UG 2024 results and a fresh examination, citing paper leaks and malpractices. Despite this, the Supreme Court refused to halt the NEET-UG 2024 counseling. The NEET-UG exam is crucial for admissions into medical and related courses across India.
