“Hamare Baarah” tackles the pressing issue of India’s population boom, set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh, and delves into the challenges faced by women.

He also urged the Maharashtra Police and Home Affairs Ministry to give ‘proper protection’ to every person associated with the film.

“The film advocates women empowerment and talks about the rights of women. First watch the film and then give your verdict. People have the freedom to speak their minds on social media but they should not abuse. Don’t abuse or give death threats. We will not be scared by these things,” the actor said in the video.

In his request for protection, Annu Kapoor highlighted the severity of the threats. “The film crew is getting ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ and live-threatening calls from radical Islamists,” he stated, underscoring the immediate danger faced by those involved in the project.

Annu Kapoor said the film deals with a socially important issue and urged people to watch it before passing judgment. “Our intention is not to hurt the sentiments of any caste or community,” Annu Kapoor added.

On May 24, the makers of “Hamare Baarah” filed a complaint at the Versova Police Station after receiving continuous death and rape threats via social media from unknown individuals.

Jointly produced by Birender Bhagat, Ravi S Gupta, Sheo Balak Singh and Sanjay Nagpal, with Trilok Nath Prasad as Co-producer and Kamal Chandra at the helm of direction, “Hamare Baarah” promises to be a cinematic masterpiece. The story, penned by Rajan Agarwal, addresses pertinent societal issues with depth and authenticity. The film is set to release in theatres on June 7, 2024.

Annu Kapoor addressed those who have threatened the cast and crew of “Hamare Baarah,” saying, “Agar aapne shaanti bhang karne ki koshish ki toh hum bhi chup nahi baithenge.”
