Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a massive gathering at YMCA Chennai Nandam on March 4, 2024 urged the people of Tamil Nadu to vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party. He added that he guaranteed to ensure that Tamil Nadu treads on the path of development and drug trafficking and dynastic family are rooted out from the State.

The Prime Minister, on a 10-day visit to 12 states and union territories ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, outlined his promises during a public meeting that saw an enthusiastic turnout of over 2 lakh cadres.

During the event, which followed his dedication of the feeder at Kalapakkam and visits to Telangana, PM Modi received a resounding welcome from the assembled crowd. The fervent cadres greeted him with chants of “Modi Modi Modi,” echoing across the skies, and slogans like “Hum Modi ka parivar” filled the air.

In his address, PM Modi launched a scathing attack on the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), highlighting his concerns about dynastic rule and emphasizing the need to dethrone the existing political leadership in the state. The Prime Minister’s speech resonated with the crowd, who responded with standing ovations, underlining the significance of the issues raised.

Highlighting the contrast between “family first” politics and his commitment to “nation first,” PM Modi declared, “I left my family, not for myself or fun, but for my country. This country is my family, these 140 crore Indians are my family.” He took a swipe at the dynastic politics of parties like DMK and Congress, asserting that those with families don’t have a license for corruption.

Addressing the issue of energy security, PM Modi lauded India’s progress in achieving Atmanirbharta in the energy sector. In Kalpakkam, he commended the historic feat of India’s first indigenous Fast Breeder Test Reactor commencing core loading. The Prime Minister expressed his government’s dedication to ensuring energy security for the nation.

Taking a dig at the DMK government, PM Modi accused them of neglecting the needs of Chennai residents during the aftermath of a cyclone. He claimed that instead of providing assistance, the government exacerbated the difficulties faced by the people. Referring to the ‘Sanatan’ row involving a DMK minister, PM Modi remarked on the Supreme Court’s tough questions, characterising the incident as an insult to the faith of millions.

In a bid to reassure the people of Tamil Nadu, PM Modi presented a guarantee related to the financial support provided by the BJP central government. He stated, “The BJP central government is committed to the development of Tamil Nadu,” addressing concerns raised by DMK about direct fund transfers. PM Modi pledged to prevent the misappropriation of funds, ensuring they reach the intended beneficiaries.

PM Modi also laid emphasis on his vision of a “Viksit Bharat” and a “Viksit Tamil Nadu,” expressing his commitment to making India the third-largest economy. He criticised dynasty politics, asserting that despite different faces, “jhoot and loot” were common traits of these parties. PM was presented a specially woven Kanchipuram silk shawl.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a massive rally at YMCA Chennai Nandam, highlighted groundbreaking initiatives in the energy sector, ranging from atomic and hydro projects to wind and solar power. Addressing a crowd of over 2 lakh cadres, PM Modi outlined incentives for installing power panels, offering free power and the option to sell excess production to the government.

PM Modi also announced a significant Supreme Court judgement that overturned protection for corrupt leaders in the INDI alliance. Welcoming the decision in the JMM bribery case, he emphasised that the verdict promotes clean politics, a pivotal development in India’s political landscape.

In an earlier visit to Kalpakkam, PM Modi commended India’s strides towards achieving energy self-sufficiency. He highlighted the historic feat of the country’s first indigenous Fast Breeder Test Reactor commencing core loading, a testament to the government’s commitment to ensuring energy security.

Acknowledging the heartburn caused by his visits among certain political quarters, PM Modi celebrated the growing support for the BJP in Tamil Nadu. In attendance were TN BJP Chief Annamalai, MoS L Murugan, and leaders from alliance parties, collectively showcasing unity and shared goals for the upcoming political landscape.

As PM Modi’s 10-day tour continues, these announcements and developments are poised to shape the narrative and garner support as the nation gears up for the impending Lok Sabha polls. The focus on clean politics and energy security resonates with the government’s commitment to ushering in a new era of progress and development
