The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), founded in 1925, will observe its centenary celebration in 2025. The organisation has played an influential role in shaping the socio-political narrative of Bharat, and as it marks its 100th year, “One Nation” or Ek Rashtra seeks to delve into the lesser-known aspects of this venerable organisation.

The series promises to provide a comprehensive and unbiased view of the RSS, shedding light on its evolution from a small group of dedicated volunteers to one of world’s largest socio-cultural organisations. While the RSS has had a significant impact on Bharat’s history, its activities have often been a topic of intrigue and debate. One Nation aims to narrate the unsung stories of those dedicated volunteers who gave up their all to keep Bharat as One Nation.

“One Nation” is being produced by a team of six National Award – winning directors, who have dedicated years to researching the RSS and its role in shaping the nation. The prominent names include Priyadarshan, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, Dr Chandra Prakash Dwivedi, John Mathew Mathan, Manju Borah and Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. The series will be a mix of documentary-style storytelling and dramatised sequences, offering a multifaceted view of the RSS and its journey.

A special focus of the series will be on the lesser-known aspects of RSS activities, including its contributions to disaster relief, social reform, and educational initiatives.

The release of “One Nation” is already generating significant interest and anticipation, with many hoping that it will help demystify the RSS and provide a deeper understanding of its impact on Bharat’s cultural and political identity.

While “One Nation” is bound to ignite debates and discussions, it is expected to provide a valuable resource for those interested in understanding the RSS and its influence on India’s history and contemporary society.

As the RSS marks its 100th year, “One Nation” is poised to be a significant contribution to the commemoration, allowing both admirers and critics to explore the organisation’s journey, its multifaceted activities, and its evolving role in the Indian social fabric.

More details regarding the release of the series are awaited. However, It is sure to be an essential watch for anyone interested in the RSS and its complex history. The project was first announced back in January 2023, when “the Kashmir Files” director Vivek Agnihotri described it as “untold tales of India’s unsung heroes who dedicated their lives for 100 years to keep India as One Nation”.
