An incident of student sexual harassment by the principal has been uncovered in a government school located in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. The accused principal is identified as Aftab Ahmed. According to the complaint filed with the police by the victim’s parents, it has been alleged that he engaged in inappropriate behaviour involving the students.

On October 1, 2023, the most recent incident occurred. When the parents confronted the principal about it, he responded by verbally abusing them. He has since been apprehended. This incident took place within the jurisdiction of Sidhari police station in Azamgarh. Aftab Ahmed, a 55-year-old, serves as the principal of the composite school in Katghar village.

The family members of the victimized students assert that Aftab Ahmed compelled their children to engage in inappropriate behaviour involving his private parts while at school. A few years ago, a similar incident involving him came to light. However, at that time, Aftab managed to resolve the matter by offering an apology. Unfortunately, he resumed his predatory behaviour towards children after some time.

In this sequence, on October 1, he did dirty acts with a 13-year-old Scheduled Caste student. The student came home and told the whole story to his mother. After the student’s mother reached school, parents of other children who were affected by Aftab’s actions also reached there. The number of victimized boys and girls is said to be around 1 dozen. Their age is between 10 to 13 years.

Aftab became angry when the parents reached the school. According to the mother of the victim student, Aftab started a fight instead of accepting his mistake. He abused his parents obscenely. Told them, “Whatever needs to be uprooted, uproot it.” You won’t be able to do everything.” The families of all the victim students have signed the complaint as witnesses and have demanded strict action against the accused. Police have registered a case against Aftab under sections 354, 294 and 504 of IPC along with SC/ST and POCSO Act.

In this matter, SP City of Azamgarh district said that after receiving the complaint, the investigation was handed over to the DSP of the area. If the allegations were found true in the investigation, a case has been registered against the accused principal under relevant sections. Aftab Ahmed has been taken into custody.

A similar incident was reported in Ayodhya

A similar incident was reported from Ayodhya district, where school Principal Rizwan Ahmed was arrested for the sexual exploitation of a minor schoolgirl inside school premises. The teacher sexually exploited a 10-year-old girl in the school.

According to media reports, the principal of the school, Rizwan Ahmed, molested the minor victim when he saw her alone. He forcibly took her into a room and locked the room from inside.

Principal Rizwan then forced the minor victim to take off her clothes and started checking her private parts. He also threatened the minor not to tell anyone about this act. The victim stopped going to school.

Apparently, the incident occurred on September 16, in a school which is located in the Rudauli tehsil area. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Baba Bazar police station.

After the classes were finished the accused asked the minor to stay back. When everyone including the students and the teachers left the school, he started misbehaving with the girl. Despite the girl’s protests, he forcefully took the minor girl inside the classroom and locked the door from inside.

Inside the classroom, he forced the minor girl to remove her clothes and started touching her private parts. He also threatened her not to speak anything about his deeds to anyone.

Following the incident, the traumatised girl remained silent and did not mention it to anyone. She also stopped going to school despite repeated requests from her family. Initially, the parents assumed that she was refusing to go to school as she was unwell.

Later, she narrated her ordeal when her parents pressured her and kept asking her to go to school.

Afterwards, the father took her along to the Baba Bazar police station and lodged a complaint in this matter. Based on the complaint, the Police registered an FIR under various sections of the POCSO Act.

Subsequently, the Police swung into action. They initiated a probe into the matter, arrested Principal Rizwan Ahmed, the accused in this case, and sent him to jail.
