Guwahati: A sensational triple murder rocked Assam on July 24 when Nazibul Rahman killed his wife, mother and father in law with a knife in Golaghat town in upper Assam. According to reports, Nazibul Rahman on July 24, broke into Sanjeev Ghosh’s house in Golaghat town and attacked his daughter and the killer’s wife Sanghamitra Ghosh. Sanjeev Ghosh and wife Junu Ghosh tried hard to protect their daughter Sanghamita. But Nazibul stabbed all three to death.

Case of love-jihad, girl pays with her life

It should be mentioned that Nazibul was out of jail on bail recently. He was arrested by police after his wife, the deceased Sanghamitra filed a complaint of domestic violence. Locals said that Sanghamitra got married with Nazibul a few years ago against the wish of her parents and after marriage Nazibul started torturing Sanghamitra on many occasions.

Being upset with his continuous torture, deceased Sanghamitra lodged complaint of domestic violance against him few months ago and Nazibul was send to jail by the court. He was out on bail recently and was targeting the family.

Sanghmitra was living with her parents ever since she got impregnated in 2021. However, Nazibul used to come to her parents house and used to torture her on several occasions.

Deceased’s younger sister reports the matter to relatives

Interestingly Sanghamitra’s younger sister Ankita Ghosh, who is studying in a university in Jorhat, was on a video call with the family. She saw how Nazibul stormed into her house and killed her family brutally with a knife. She immediately informed her aunt about the incident and the relatives rushed to Sanjeev Ghosh’s house. By the time, they reached, Nazibul had killed all the three members of the family and fled from the spot.

After killing his wife and her father and mother in law, murderer Nazibul took away the 9 months old son of deceased Sanghamitra.

Police swung into action, culprit surrenders

Golaghat police were informed by the relatives and they reached the spot immediately. Police started the search operations in different places of Golaghat in search of Nazibul. Sensing the risk of absconding after committing the heinous crime, Nazibul Rahman surrendered in Golaghat police station in the evening. However, the sensational triple murder by Nazibul has left the state shell-shocked.
