Guwahati: Biggest ever Government job appointment ceremony to be held in Assam on May 25. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will distribute 45000 appointment letters to selected candidates in various departments and categories of jobs in the Assam Government at a function in Guwahati.

Briefing the media, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah would distribute 45,000 appointment letters in a single event which will be the biggest-ever distribution of jobs in the State under one roof. This is part of the Government’s promise of providing one lakh jobs. So far, 41,920 candidates have been appointed by the Assam Government, and recruitment for another 22,776 posts will be underway soon, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said. The Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be on a day-long visit to Guwahati on May 25 and 26. He will attend the “biggest-ever” appointment letter distribution ceremony in Assam.

Amit Shah will also lay the foundation stone of the first-ever National Forensic Sciences University of North East at Changsari, about 20 km from Guwahati. This will be the ninth campus of NFSU in the country, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed in a press meet.

Besides offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various forensic subjects, the university will provide forensic training to scientists from South East Asia, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Nepal. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma further said, “We will ensure that even if there is any overlapping of appointees, one lakh jobs are ensured as promised by BJP in its election manifesto in 2021”.

The Assam Government has decided to come up with an ordinance so that the new recruits can be posted in any department as per the need of the Government.

The CM further said that the Government would never compromise with the appointments of the teachers. Only purely deserving candidates will be appointed as teachers in Government schools. So now onwards, Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) qualified B.Ed candidates have to sit for another written test before getting appointments in Government schools.
