The Father of a minor Hindu girl gave a complaint to the Uttar Pradesh police demanding action against Islamist, Mohammad Irshad. He alleged that Irshad, who was a stalker initially, lured his daughter and made her follow Islam. Now, after the complaint, he is threatening them of dire consequences.

So far no arrests have been made in this case.

A First Information Report was registered at the Chhapia police station on April 8 by the victim’s father.

As per the complaint letter, Vanshidhar Maurya told the police that, he is a resident of Sikri Mira village which falls under the Chhapia police jurisdiction. His 17-year-old daughter started following Islamic practices lately.

She started offering Namaz, kept Quran and would take the name of Allah after everything she said.

He added, these changes have been made ever since a boy from the neighbourhood Mohammad Irshad started following her. He has been stalking her for more than a year now. He lured her into a fake relationship after which she started adhering to Islamic religious practices.

As soon as the complainant found the truth, he tried convincing his daughter and made sure she gets rid of the accused.

Notably, after the victim’s father Vanshidhar reached the police for help, the accused started threatening them of dire consequences. He said, he will abduct his daughter and will get him converted to Islam.

He also gave death threats to the victim’s father and family.

Organiser Weekly tried contacting the Chhapia police but the calls went unanswered.

As per the Tweet mentioned below the Superintendent of Police Gonda, Akash Tomar took cognizance of the matter, after a Twitter user posted an update about the incident.

The Gonda police informed that they have directed the Mankapur police for prompt action. However, no case has been registered at the Mankapur police station told the Station House Officer, Mankapur.

The victim’s father told Organiser Weekly that his wife fainted upon learning about Irshad

Organiser Weekly called Vanshidhar on April 10 when he was in Lucknow, as his wife was admitted to the hospital. He said she could not bear her daughter’s slander.

On March 25, he registered a complaint against Irshad stating he has been stalking his daughter and needs to be booked.

However, the opposite happened as Irshad managed to lure her into a relationship. Later he started manipulating her. He managed to make her follow Islam and offer Namaz.

On March 24, Irshad took his daughter with him, they tried locating her but failed. The next day they found her near the colony, she was returning home. The accused allegedly raped her as well.

Seeing her daughter in this condition the victim’s mother fainted. She is now stable.

The victim’s father is a farmer and is the father of three daughters. They come from the Other Backward Class (OBC).

Vanshidhar says, ever since he registered the complaint Irshad has been threatening them. He and his family members are saying that either he marry his daughter with them or leave the village.

He is also giving them death threats. He comes from a lower middle-class family and struggles to make ends meet. He is worried on how he will fight the case against Irshad and family, who could get violent.

He is stressed about his daughter’s future as well.

He said, the police made no arrests so far.

Organiser Weekly will update the report once, the accused gets arrested.
