J&K: Madrasa Maulvi and his accomplice arrested for kidnapping and holding a minor girl hostage for five months

The teenage girl was studying Arabic at the Madrasa at Chak Dayala area in Samba, where the Madrasa teacher Maulvi Bilal kidnapped and kept her hostage for 5 months

On February 26, J&K Police arrested Madrasa Maulvi Bilal and accomplice Riaz Ahmed for bluffing, kidnapping, and keeping a 16-year-old girl hostage for the last 5 months. The minor girl was pursuing Arabic studies in the Madrasa located in the Chak Dayala area, situated in J&K’s Samba district.

The District Police Samba [@sambapolice] tweeted, “Father of the minor girl had lodged a written report at Police Post (PP) Rakh Amb Talli that his sixteen-year-old girl had been kidnapped by one Madrasa Moulvi, who hails from Gandoh area of Doda district and had been staying at Madarsa in the guise of Moulvi at border village Chak Dayala, Samba for the last five months.”

Based on the father’s complaint, the police registered an FIR u/s 363 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Samba Police Station. The police further tweeted, “Acting upon the complaint of father, police registered FIR u/s 363 IPC at PS Samba and recovered kidnapped girl and arrested kidnapper Madrasa Moulvi from Ramsoo, district Ramban. Another accused, who provided abetment to kidnapper, has also been arrested by police.”

The two accused have been identified as Madrasa Moulvi Bilal Ahmed s/o Abdul Qayoom r/o Bathari village in J&K’s Doda district and his accomplice, Riaz Ahmed s/o Din Mohammed r/o Bathari village in J&K’s Doda district.

The police tweeted, “Arrested Madrasa Moulvi has been identified as Bilal Ahmed s/o Abdul Qayoom r/o Village Bathari, District Doda and another arrested accused namely Riaz Ahmed s/o Din Mohammed r/o Village Bathari, District Doda, who provided abetment to kidnapper, has also been arrested by police from Gandoh Doda. Further investigation in the case is going on.”

The police tweeted, “Arrests were made by I/C PP Rakh Amb Talli Ravinder Singh and SHO police station Samba Rajeshwar Singh under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Samba Mohd Usman and Addl. SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary.”

The police further tweeted, “Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that Police is conducting investigations in sincere & sensitive manner in all cases pertaining to kidnappings of minors’ and kidnappers & abettors are being arrested under law.”
