Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala University Vice Chancellor V.P. Mahadevan Pillai ignored Governor Arif Mohammed Khan’s order to remove 15 senate members. Governor’s ultimatum expires today. Now, the Vice Chancellor has invited all those members who have been blacklisted by the Governor to an urgent meeting scheduled to take place on November 4, 2022.

The Governor had asked the VC to sack the Senate members when they failed to select a Search Committee to nominate a panel for the appointment of VC.  It is reported that most of them maintain their allegiance to CPM.

On October 17, Governor warned the ministers that he would even withdraw them if they keep on lowering the prestige and position of the Governor’s office. Immediately the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues criticised the Governor. CPM leaders alleged that Governor was lowering his status and implementing RSS agenda.

Now, the relationship between the Governor and the government has reached a flash point. Some others say, It has reached a point of no return.
