Siddharth has not done this for the first time. He habitually passes sexually loaded comments on women he doesn't politically agree with.

On January 5, badminton star Saina Nehwal expressed her concern over the security breach of Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he was vising Punjab the same day. She said that how could a nation consider herself secure if the Prime Minister's security is compromised in the country. "No nation can claim itself to be safe if the security of its own PM gets compromised. I condemn, in the strongest words possible, the cowardly attack on PM Modi by anarchists", she posted on social media platform Twitter.

Quoting this tweet of Saina Nehwal, he posted, "Subtle cock champion of the world… Thank God we have protectors of India. Shame on you #Rihanna."

Till the time of writing this copy, neither he has deleted the tweet nor apologised for it.

The National Commission for Women took cognisance of the offensive tweet. NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma asked Twitter to suspend Siddharth's account and also said she would ask the police to take action in the case. She posted on Twitter, "This man needs a lesson or two. @TwitterIndia why this person's account still exists?..taking it up with Concerned police."

Saina responded, saying that Siddharth could have expressed himself in better words if there was any difference of opinion. In an interview with CNNNews18, she said, "I'm not sure what he (Sidharth) meant. I used to like him as an actor, but this was not nice. He can express himself with better words, but I guess it's Twitter, and you are noticed with such words and comments."

An Olympics bronze medalist, Saina, represented India in Olympics three times. She has won the Commonwealth Games gold medal three times. In 2016, she was awarded the third-highest civilian honour, Padma Bhushan and Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award in 2010.

Last week, actor Siddharth had mocked Times Now anchor Navika Kumar, saying she uses 'stoolkit'.

Actor Siddharth pretends to be progressive and feminist on social media platforms. Recently, he was leading the charge against the creators of Sulli Deals and Bulli Bai apps which had targeted Muslim women.

Many were shocked at the comment of Siddharth. Political commentator Abhijit Majumder said, "What kind of family grooming and professional desperation drives this guy to sexually harass a world champion sportsperson and a successful TV anchor. And say stuff like 'Bharat Mata kijiye'. You need psychiatric help Siddharth."
