Guwahati: Border Security Force Thursday (November 25) apprehended a Bangladeshi miscreant and three Cow heads (cattle beheaded for consumption of meat) in the Mathabhanga area Indo-Bangladesh border in Coochbehar district.
On Thursday, at about 0340 hours, the troops of 169 battalions managed to apprehend one Bangladeshi miscreant from the bordering area of village Satgachi area of West Bengal and rescued 3 Cattle heads from the miscreant while trying to cross the International boundary illegally. The miscreant has been identified as Md Sahin Islam (28yrs) district Bangladesh. Security forces suspected that the miscreant Sahin Islam was involved in cow smuggling. It is also suspected that due to the strict vigil of the BSF in the international borders, smugglers are changing the modus operandi of cow smuggling. These crooks smuggle cow meat instead of the cow with the help of the racket on the Indian side.
In yet another success in its crusade against border crimes, the troops under the aegis of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force apprehended another Bangladeshi National. They seized 252 bottles of Liquor and 14 kg of Cannabis from the Indo- Bangladesh border.
