The word Ravana itself is a Sanskrit (Indo-Aryan) word and has no meaning in the Gondi language.
I am a Gond (Tribal)
I have heard enough BS about Ravana being a Gond.
(PS Long Thread)
Let's Debunk this. pic.twitter.com/RICcT3lnRn

The native language of Gonds is Gondi (Dravidian language family)
The word Ravana itself is a Sanskrit (Indo-Aryan) word.
It has no meaning in Gondi language.— Cartoon ?? #Kashyap_ka_Kashmir (@Cartoon457) November 9, 2021
Now, where is this narrative coming from? Let's see
In Gondi Mythology, there are Lingos, Lingo (लिंगो) is basically a spiritual leader. Just like Sikhs had Dharmagurus.
— Cartoon ?? #Kashyap_ka_Kashmir (@Cartoon457) November 9, 2021
In Gondi, Mythology 18 Lingos were there. The name of the 18th lingo was Raaven रावेन .
The word Raaven (रावेन) in Gondi language means a King (as claimed by them), although no such word was there in the Gondi language dictionary, in which I tried to search.

*Don't get confused with the bird Raven*
Having a name which means a King, doesn't necessarily means he was a King. For example, a person named Raja is not necessarily a King.
All the stories of Gondi Kings are passed through oral culture via songs, such songs are called पाटा

(paataa).
*Most of the paataas are extinct now*Although few Paataas do tell about him being a King. (As they claimed, but I wasn't able to find such)
Apparently, no such paataa records a tale of Raaven being killed by Shree Ram.
— Cartoon ?? #Kashyap_ka_Kashmir (@Cartoon457) November 9, 2021
*In oral culture, new songs can be created, but AFAIK no such paata is there as of now, where Shree Ram kills our ancestors, be aware, they (Marxist/communists) can definitely create one*

Some Gonds claim themselves to be Ravanvanshis, who are they then?
R.L. Singh in his book "India : A Regional Geography" mentions Ravanvanshi Gonds to be b**f eaters. https://t.co/TClZknv2cl
I assume,
Maybe that's why they would have called as Ravanvanshi.— Cartoon ?? #Kashyap_ka_Kashmir (@Cartoon457) November 9, 2021
Or maybe they are the descendants of Lingo Raaven.
If you argue, that Ravana and Raaven are same.
— Cartoon ?? #Kashyap_ka_Kashmir (@Cartoon457) November 9, 2021
Then, a word "R***i" in hindi (Indo-Aryan language family) means a sl** while "R***i" in Telugu (Dravidian language family) is used to welcome people, even praises of Gods have been made consisting of that word, where they are welcoming gods.

Marxist claim Lanka to be in Amarkantak, Madhya Pradesh.
*Amarkantak is the origin of Narmada River*My question to them, Then where is Ram Setu? On Narmada? ?
— Cartoon ?? #Kashyap_ka_Kashmir (@Cartoon457) November 9, 2021
"Lanka" in Gondi language is used for a hilly region(again it is claimed by them, but such word was not present in the gondi language dictionary I searched) But Ramayana is in Sanskrit, so the Sanskrit word "Lanka" is definitely not used in that particular context.
— Cartoon ?? #Kashyap_ka_Kashmir (@Cartoon457) November 9, 2021
(As same word can have different meanings in different languages).
Few Kanyakubja Brahmins also consider Ravana as their ancestor, will you imply that Aryan – Dravidian logic on them also?
— Cartoon ?? #Kashyap_ka_Kashmir (@Cartoon457) November 9, 2021
So, we can conclude that due to Apabhransh (अपभ्रंश), Raaven got distorted as Ravana.
Worship of Raaven, is nothing but ancestor worship among Gonds. Quite common ritual in Tribals.

Also, contrary to that, Suwa (सुआ) (translation: parrot) a form of dance done while singing and keeping Suwa (parrot) idol in centre, mostly sung by Gond Tribal Women on the occasion of Diwali. Lyrics of one such Suwa is :

सीता ला हरके लैगे रावण, सीता ला हरके रावण
दे माई मोला भिक्खा मोर सुआ हो, दे माई मोला भिक्खा।
भिक्खा लेके निकले सीता, रावण चुरा के लैगे मोर सुआ हो।
दौड़ो-दौड़ो बचाव लछमन, दौड़ो-दौड़ो बचाव लछमन
रावण चुराके लैगे मोर सुआ हो…— Cartoon ?? #Kashyap_ka_Kashmir (@Cartoon457) November 9, 2021

Infact, Gonds have their own version of Ramayana called as "Gond Ramayani". https://t.co/wkhdaR4UIj

On the contrary,
Gond King Sangram Shah of Mandla wrote "Shree Hariharaya Namah" on his coins. https://t.co/cauM1GyTsB
Gond King Hirday Shah and his wife built a Vishnu Temple in Mandla.https://t.co/33cdQREY4W

An Inscription found in Mandla Fort of Gonds , The translation of the 1st line is "Salutations to thee, Vishnu, who though, as if in thy entirely manifoldly manifested"
So, Gond Kings themselves worshipped Lord Vishnu.Source:https://t.co/UL9NrTWQPA

A few were saying that 5dev gonds have "Raud"राउड़ in the name of 5 Devas as Ahiraud, mahiraud etc, which according to them indicates names of Ahiravana and Mahiravana etc. Apparently, majority of their own people don't agree with this name.
— Cartoon ?? #Kashyap_ka_Kashmir (@Cartoon457) November 10, 2021
See, No "Raud" is there in the names of 5dev (5 pen saga) .It's just Aha, Maha, Reka etc. No "Raud" is present in their names. Only Goyanda Raud is there, but no character called Goyanada Ravana was there in Ramayan. https://t.co/G2dyUC1iow pic.twitter.com/9G5iQqXGSO
— Cartoon ?? #Kashyap_ka_Kashmir (@Cartoon457) November 10, 2021
They were the same people who said "Raud" is derived from "Rao" which means a respectable person. So, they themselves are contradicting themselves several times in their own narratives.
— Cartoon ?? #Kashyap_ka_Kashmir (@Cartoon457) November 10, 2021
I'll explain later, what "Dev" implies in Gondi culture.
