Agartala: In a major show of strength, the Tripura BJP on Monday organised a “march for development” at RKAI Maidan in Unakoti district’s Kailashahar town. Lashing out at the opposition CPI (M) and its leader Manik Sarkar, chief minister Biplab Dev said, he waa the state chief minister for long 20 years and I respected him a lot. But that day I saw another face of the man. Sarkar and his party had planned violence in Dhanpur to defame a particular community. We never discriminate between Hindu and Muslim, Biplab Dev or PM Narendra Modi Ji never does this.

Dev further said, " If you do development and work, there is a chance of making some mistakes, but if you don't work no chance of making mistakes. The left didn't do anything in the state for 25 years. We all are safe because BJP came to power in 2018. Under the patronage of the previous left government, hundreds of BJP workers were murdered in various parts of the state. Our government has provided government jobs to 7 victims' families."

Attacking the left parties for the recent violence in the Dhanpur area of the state, CM Dev said, "Politics of blood and murders don't happen in our state now. It hasn't stopped automatically, the people of Tripura have recognised the true character of the left. The original character of the left parties came out in the Dhanpur violence." Targeting the TMC who is trying to set its foot in poll-bound Tripura, Biplab Dev said," Another set of selfish people has come from West Bengal to our state. They come in the morning flight and go back by evening. These people are pretending to be the saviour of minorities and provoking people. Beware of these people, they are trying to disrupt the progress of Tripura."

In another significant development, close to 2,500 people belonging to TMC and the CPM today jumped ship and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Targeting Mamta Benarjee and her nephew, Chief minister Biplab Deb also stated that the people of Tripura will never accept Goonda Raaj or ‘Bhatija Raaj’ as only Jaanta Raj is prevalent in the state.
