The security agencies have warned that anti-social elements and 'those with an ideological leaning towards the Khalistani movement' can portray themselves as Delhi Police personnel and try to infiltrate Red Fort security. The alert is highly important since it comes at a time when the vigil across the national capital has been stepped up in light of the Independence Day celebrations.
"Attempt can be made to create law and order situation at religious sites in Delhi," sources were quoted as saying by news agency ANI
A high-level meeting of the top officials of the Delhi Police took place on Friday (August 13).
While the security agencies have stepped up the vigil across Delhi-NCR, deployment has been stepped up multi-fold at Red Fort. According to several reports citing sources, about 250-300 commandos will be deployed on high-rises around the fort.
