Mamata Banerjee abruptly ended a press conference in Kolkata on Friday. Reason? A reporter started asking questions about the Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal assembly Suvendu Adhikari.

Mukul Roy, who had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party after quitting the Trinamool Congress, had joined TMC again.

The chief minister was present in the press conference. After his formal induction in the party in the presence of Mamata Banerjee, Mukul Roy was answering reporters' questions.

The moment one reporter mentioned Suvendu Adhikari, Mamata Banerjee got up and announced “the press conference is over now”.

The reporter couldn’t complete his question.

On many previous occasions, chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ have irritated CM Banerjee so much that she had publicly expressed her irritation.

On one occasion, she left the dias when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present there.

In the just-concluded West Bengal Assembly polls, Suvendu Adhikari defeated Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram.

Earlier, Adhikari was a close confidant of Mamata Banerjee. In December last year, he resigned from the TMC to join the Bharatiya Janata Party.
