A young Hindu girl was attacked with acid inside her home by a Muslim man in Hapur district in Uttar Pradesh Sunday night.
Acting swiftly, police arrested the accused Rohil Khan within six hours.
The victim has got serious burn injuries on her face and body and is undergoing treatment in the neighbouring Meerut district.
Khan knew the victim and was pressuring her for a relationship. The victim spurned his advances.
Superintendent of Police, Hapur, Neeraj Kumar Jadaun told the press, “Minor force was used to apprehend the accused. He got primary treatment in the district hospital.”
Khan entered the victim’s house after jumping the wall in the night and threw the acid on her.
