Bhopal: The sculptor of Saraswati Shishu Mandir Yojana in Madhya Pradesh, Roshanlal Saxena, passed away on August 21. He was 88.
Born in Sidhi on October 5, 1931, Roshanlalji did MSc in Mathematics and became a Sangh swayamsevak in 1943. He taught at a college from 1954 to 1964. When the first Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Madhya Pradesh was started on February 12, 1951 he was secretary of its management committee. During the Emergency he was jailed from July 16, 1975 to January 20, 1977.
When the Vidya Bharati was given national shape, Roshanlalji was given the responsibility of national secretary. He also held the responsibility of organising secretary in Madhya Pradesh.
He taught this method of education to innumerable workers of Vidya Bharati across the country. He played a key role in expansion of the Saraswati Shishu Mandir Yojana. He was felicitated for his contribution to this cause by RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat on November 11, 2011
