About the Place
About 1500 BC place of the Vedic times is supposed to be the originating point of river Saraswati. Located in the foothills of Shivalik range in Yamunanagar district there is an underground stream which, the
geological experts link to the now-extinct  Saraswati river. The place near Kathgarh village is interspersed with a large number of ancient temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva.
As the name suggests, the place is the ancient residing abode of Lord Badrinath. The word “Adi” means ancient and the word “Badri” is the name of the God, Badrinath.
The historical tales state that it was Lord Vishnu’s abode in the Satyuga, Treta and Dwapar yugas before he moved to his newer abode in Kaliyuga, which is today’s Badrinath in Uttaranchal.
It is located on the foothills of the Shivaliks. It is a picturesque location, abundant with natural beauty and
tranquility. Adibadri Narayana, Shri Kedar Nath and Mantra Devi Temples are located here.
Three mounds of antiquities have recently been excavated by the Archaeological Survey of India
How to Reach
It lies 40 kms north of Yamunanagar town. It is approached by road via Bilaspur and is about 2 kms from the nearest village Kathgarh.    n
