Shakti is the invincible power of the Lord, or the celestial Energy. Devi Durga is a form of Shakti worshiped for her gracious and startling part. Mother of the creation, She stands for the inestimable power of the existence and is an icon of the female vitality.

Spring is the best of all seasons. It’s the autumn that invites Mother Goddess Durga. Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival for the Hindus. It is a mega festive event that every Hindu waits for throughout the year. White cotton-ball like clouds floating on the clear blue sky is a natural phenomenon of the autumn which indicates the arrival message for Devi Durga.
Durga Puja is more of a carnival, which comes in respect of a wide range of other festival events in the world. In most parts of India, buildings and streets are enlightened with chains of light, huge Puja Pandals imitate famous religious and historic shrines and the roads are lavished with people of all ages during the event. We feel so intensely the spirit and the ambiance of the festival.
It is believed that Goddess Durga comes as a blessing, mainly for the indigent people of the nation. In the event, nostalgic cultural programme, Dhunuchi Naach (dancing with fire in hand), sound of dhak-dhol (a large drum) and ghonta (bell) and long adda sessions are on the marks. These are the spirit of the blissful season of Durga Puja and bring joy to our hearts.

Another Cover Story: Shrines of Shakti
Shakti is the invincible power of the Lord, or the celestial Energy. Goddess Durga is a form of Shakti worshiped for her gracious and startling part. Mother of the creation, She stands for the inestimable power of the existence and is an icon of the female vitality. The expression of Goddess Durga is said to appear from her unformed spirit and the two are undividable.
The Mother's grace is endless and Her clemency is infinite. Mother Durga is the deity of knowledge. Her glory goes beyond words and Her splendour is inexpressible. The Mother brings peace, prosperity, happiness and spiritual freedom for all.
Happy Durga Puja!!                                         Mithun Dey
