News Round-up : Not caring for themselves, they cared for others

In the morning of September 12 when people in Petlawad under Jhabua District of Madhya Pradesh were still trying to wake-up, a blast rocked a godown near a bus stand. Even before the people could understand something, another blast turned the nearby shops and house into rubbles scattering human bodies and blood everywhere.
The swayamsevaks at Shagun Garden in Bamniyan Road had reached the house of a swayamsevak after morning Shakha and they had just picked up the tea cups, they heard a more powerful blast. They ran out and saw a big dust storm. They rushed towards the spot. When the dust cleared they saw scattered dead bodies and also some injured people crying. Within minutes about 50 more swayamsevaks rushed the spot and joined the rescue operation. Swayam-sevaks started sending injured to the hospital on motorcycles of the passers-by. But seeing the number of injured high, they arranged four wheelers from the colony and sent the injured to hospital in the shortest possible duration. Since some people were buried in the rubbles, they called JCB machines and tractors and started finding out the injured. Meanwhile, about 50 more swayamsevaks joined them. Some teams were also sent to hospital. Some started identifying dead bodies and consolling their family members. Some tried to control the spectators. Some also donated blood at the hospital. Then some reached the crematoriums to assist in cremation. They arranged woods and also other required material for cremation, which continued till 8.00 pm.
When the entire village and also the surrounding areas were stunned with this incident, the former State Congress president Kantilal Bhuria, instead of joining the rescue operation, started doing politics on the blast. Some Congress leaders held a press conference in Bhopal and tried to establish that the person responsible for the blast was RSS swayamsevak whose name was Rajendra Kasawa. In support of this lie, they also released a photo of RSS Pathsanchalan in which a person was marked as Rajendra Kasawa, the resident of Petlawad in whose godown the blast occurred. In fact, the photo released by Congress leaders was basically from Jetyu Village of Faridkote in Punjab, which was published in The Tribute from Chandigarh on October 7, 2014. The person who was called Rajendra Kasawa is basically Shyamlal Goel. The local people got angered over the misdeed of Congress leaders and they registered a FIR against them in the local Police Station under Section 469, 500, 34 and 66D.
The blast claimed the lives of 88 innocent people. Twelve swayamsevaks were also killed, which included Tehsil Dharma Jagran Pramukh and a Mukhya Shikshak. Despite that the swayamsevaks reached the spot without wasting any time and tried to save the lives of others.

BMS welcomes Haryana Govt’s decision
to enhance minimum wages

Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) welcomed the Haryana Government decision to enhance minimum wages in the State. BMS zonal organising secretary Shri Pawan Kumar expressed satisfaction over the amount of wages increased by the government. He said the workers in the State suffered for so many years due to the defective system of neutralisation of consumer price index. The rate was Rs. 2.31 for 12 long years as if the rupee did not devalue at all in that period. The neutralisation was only 60 per cent @ Rs. 2.31. It was virtual begging to negotiate the rate of neutralisation. Now, it will be 100 per cent neutralisation. Apart from it the government also reduced the duration of shifting from unskilled to semi skilled category from 10 to 5 years.

A novel way to rebuff the novel vilifying Hindu women, written by a Communist, was suggested by noted columnist S Gurumurthy. He was addressing a gathering of women at Tiruchengodu, near Erode. The small town was up in arms against the vilifying novel which portrayed women devotees of Ardhanareeswara temple in the town.  Gurumurthy’s suggestion was, Hindu women should visit the temple in huge numbers during Vaikasi Visakam festival (May-June) indicating the resoluteness of Hindu society. The gathering was also addressed by Prof. Kanakasabapathy of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch and Smt Deepa Sakthivel of Tiruchengodu.   (VSK Tamil Nadu)

‘Accelerate the work of Gram Vikas and Kutumb Probodhan’

“The society is fast understanding the significance of cow based farming because of the medicinal values found among the indigenous breed of cows. Therefore, it is time to expand the work by accelerating the cow protection work,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat while addressing a gathering of about 100 senior workers from Uttar Kshetra at Neri in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh on September 26. Prant level workers from Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh involved in the work of social harmony, Gram Vikas, cow protection and Kutumba Prabodhan participated in the meeting.
Shri Bhagwat further said a harmonious society stands with confidence and self-respect. Therefore, it is need of the hour that we eradicate social differences. He said Gram Vikas and Kutumba Prabodhan are two highly significant activities. Kutumba (family) is the backbone of the society, while Gram (village) is the backbone of the country’s economy. Both have strength to eradicate basic shortcomings prevailing in the society. Therefore, work in both these activities should be accelerated. RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Dr Manmohan Vaidya, Akhil Bharatiya Sah Sampark Pramukh Shri Arun Kumar, Uttar Kshetra Karyavah Shri Sitaram Vyas and Sah Kshetra Karyavah Shri Vijay Kumar were also present on the occasion.

Tribute by Ashok Singhal

VHP patron Shri Ashok Singhal also paid tribute to Swami Dayananda Saraswati. He said the leading saint was closely connected with the VHP right from its inception in 1964 and was instrumental in the writing of its aims and objects as delivered by Shri Guruji Golwalkar, Swami Chinmayanandaji and KM Munshiji. For all the major activities that the VHP began undertaking after its Vishwa Hindu Sammelan of 1966, he was taking keen interest in it and gave guidance from time to time. “Seva (service) was Swamiji’s message to all his devotees and the youths of our country. The hundreds of seva activities under the banner of ‘AIM for Seva’ (All India Movement for Seva) was his great mission for the uplift of the last man (Antyoday) that was uppermost in his mind. We have to accomplish the dreams of Swamiji to reach out to the unreachable brethren in our country, to serve them, so that they are empowered enough to independently uplift themselves and their communities. This is Pujya Swamiji’s message to all of us to materialise,” Shri Singhal said in his tribute.
