The violence hit areas of Muzaffarnagar are going to prove a fertile ground for Muslim fanatic organisations, as the activities of Kerala’s banned fanatic organisation, People’s Front of India (PFI) have been reported in the violence hit areas. The continuing of violence in the district also proves the presence of such fanatic elements.

The sources have confirmed that some people associated with the PFI are active in Muzaffarnagar and its adjoining areas like Saharanpur, Bijnor, Moradabad, Amroha, Baghpat, Shamli, Meerut and Bulandshahar. They are mobilising local Muslim youth and preparing them to take revenge of the violence. There are reports that the poison being spread by PFI among Muslim youth is responsible for the repeated incidents of violence, which has claimed the lives of over 70 people. This is the reason that normalcy still could not be restored in the region.

The continuing violence marred Diwali and Bhaiya Dooj celebrations also as the people preferred to stay inside their houses. Even then some youth on bike fired at three people in which one Mukul Sharam died on the night of Diwali. The Police claimed the incident as a case of enmity, but the families of the victims are looking at it as a silent war on the part of Muslim fanatics. On Bhaiya Dooj many brothers preferred to deposit the amount in the bank accounts of their sisters and did not visit them personally.

Interestingly, the local police and intelligence officers deny the reports of PFI activity. ADG Intelligence of UP police Shri Jawaharlal Tripathi told this correspondent that he does not have any such information. Saharanpur SSP Upendra Agrawal said since the PFI is not banned in Uttar Pradesh, their activities are not being watched properly. The intelligence officers of Saharanpur also did not give any satisfactory answer of the queries in this regard.

It shows the Samajwadi Party Government of Uttar Pradesh is giving priority only to the political interests and it is not serious about restoring peace in the riot hit areas. Even after getting repeated raps from the court it is still playing partisan role. The National Security Act (NSA) imposed on BJP MLAs Sangeet Singh Some and Suresh Rana was part of the similar conspiracy. But the NSA Advisory Board in Lucknow on November 7 revoked the detention of both the BJP MLAs. The NSA Board said the charges against the MLAs were not well-established and were not sufficient for imposing NSA against MLAs.
