Ignoring IM modules for vote-bank politics

Jyoti Lal Chowdhury, Silchar

Many intriguing
facts have come to light with the arrest of the Patna blast mastermind Tehsin Akhtar and his accomplices associated with Indian Mujahideen (IM). The IM has been taking firm ground in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal with Darbhanga as its epicenter being strategically located close to the border of Bangladesh and Nepal with entry and exit route to Pakistan. Evidences of it are its ‘modules’ or ‘sleeper cells’ active in Madhubani, Ranchi and Motihari as exposed from the revelations of the IM operatives in security dragnet. In fact, IM is the revival of SIMI (Student Islamic Movement of India) in another guise.

Another serious dimension of the expose is that lakhs of hawala money carried by Mohammed Ali, an operative of the outfit, was used in carrying out the serial blasts during the Hunkar rally of Narendra Modi in which 6 persons including a terrorist were killed. A resident of Nirpur village of Muzaffarpur district  was arrested by the Special Task Force of Kolkata police from near Victoria Memorial. It explains how terrorists continue to receive financial aid through Bangladesh and Nepal. Money has travelled through Bengal and Ali is believed to be a part of the dreaded network of Syed Abdul Karim alias Tunda, now in detention.

A number of detentions after the blasts and the grilling and interrogations of the accused have at the same time bared yet another alarming fact about the recruitment of youths for IM and Laskar-e –Toiba terror modules. Zakaria and Allauddin, two aides of Tunda, confessed before intelligence agencies about their modus-operandi to push in Pakistani and Bangladeshi terrorists into India. These terrorists, as they said, are in hideouts of West Bengal who become part of modules of IM-TeT to carry out blasts anywhere across India as planned by their leaders. On last November 2, acting on intelligence inputs, Bihar police was on red alert in Motihari town as IM operatives was planning to target crowded localities.

From the confessions of Tehsin Akhtar, mastermind in Patna blasts, before the security and intelligence agencies, it has also been brought into focus that the Patna blasts have been triggered on the instructions and guidance of IM founder Riyaz Bhatkal from Pakistan. Akhtar had been in constant touch with Riaz through internet before the blasts were carried out. In respect of funding for mayhems, it has now been probed that Mohammed Ali was the courier, which was actually Uzair Ahmed, an electrician from Ranchi, who collected the money and delivered it to bombers, Haider Ali and Imtiaz Ali. Ahmed collected money through a mosque on the pretext of using it for religious purposes.

It has been established beyond doubt about the involvement of IM in Patna blasts. The target was Gujrat CM and prime ministerial candidate of BJP. Moreover the motive was to create panic, disrupt the rally, cause stampede and the resultant casualty of grave dimension. It failed mainly due to the political wisdom and farsight of Narendra Modi and  the well-disciplined surging crowd under equally coordinated and managerial deftness and skill of volunteers of BJP.

Basking under its obsession with secularism, Nitish Kumar Government thought it was enough to sanitise the state. Even after the news of first blast went international, it was rather caught napping and its police and intelligence system came under scathing criticism from all quarters concerned. The Union Home Ministry’s alert missive as revealed later on also went unheeded. The state government refused to learn any lesson from the Bodhgaya blasts three months ago. Nitish Kumar was also under the delusion that breaking away from BJP would give it the best of secular credentials to keep the terrorists at arms’ length.

It is now confirmed with the arrest of IM operative Imtiaz Ansari from Ranchi  who has confessed conducting a reconnaissance of the rally venue where more than dozen bombs were planted before an hour of the arrival of Modi, giving evidences of the laxity and lackadaisical attitude of Bihar police. There was also enough reason to lend credence to the allegation of political conspiracy. It was his confession that brought out the names of other operatives involved in planting of bombs. Quite significantly, IM second in command Tehsin Akhtar belongs to Bihar and is part of the infamous Darbhanga module of the outfit. He now heads the IM operations after the arrest of Yasin Bhatkal. He was involved in Pune, Mumbai and Hyderabad blasts and is on the run.

Just after Yasin Bhatkal fell into security dragnet, Tehsin along with Pakistani accomplice Waqas escaped from their hideout at Mangalore. Along with Tehsin, Danish Ansari was another operative, the latter is also an active member of Darbhanga module. W hile Danish is from Darbhanga, Tehsin is from Samastipur. The trio Tehsin, Danish and Waqas were planning further blasts after executing the Hyderabad mayhems in February 2013. Darbhanga module was created with the help of local resident Fasih Mohammed, now facing interrogation by the security and intelligence agencies.

Yasin Bhatkal was behind the floating of modules across Bihar. It was he, as intelligence agencies have revealed, entrusted Tehsin  with the responsibility of recruiting youths in Bihar and Jharkhand. Several youths were lured into the fold and indoctrinated. Tehsin was also given the responsibility of arranging and holding classes on indoctrination named ‘Darsh’. One such induction programme came into focus at a crowded locality of Darbhanga in January 2011, but underplayed by security agencies of the state. It has also been established by investigation agencies National Security Guard and National Investigation Agency that bombs and timers used in Bodhgaya and Patna blasts were identical and it was the same group led by Tehsin Akhtar involved . Timers used in the bombs were lotus brand table clocks made in Gujrat but were brought from Assam.

The Patna blasts, according to analysts, point to the worsening security environment in the country just ahead of general elections. Bihar is not only a transit route of terrorists but also a recruiting centre and ground for terror modules in the country. And strangely enough, despite all the intelligence inputs about ferocious modules being raised by Yasin Bhatkal in Darbhanga and Madhubani, Nitish Kumar government refused to take custody of him though Bihar police played a significant role in his arrest from Nepal perhaps wary of stirring the terror pot ahead of 2014 general elections. When Yasin was brought to Raxaul, the central security agency had to step in to take over the case. This alone is a tell-tale of how terrorists are given enough leeway to gain strength and strike. All this for the sake of proving secularism and vote-bank politics.

These political opportunists can go to any extent to please the Muslims voters? I remember when Buddhadev Bhattacharya’s wife came out on street and celebrated Dhananjoy Chatterjee’s death sentence announced by the apex court. There is nothing wrong in celebrating death of Dhananjoy but did she came out and celebrated when Kasab was hanged?

CPM is protesting on Modi becoming  PM and that make me wonder as why don’t communist protest against the loot by the ministers who are also responsible for slowly killing millions of people with rising prices? After all communist champion for the cause of the poor…… don’t they?

India’s Poor don’t have any religion they want good roads, education, jobs opportunities and that’s their religion? The amount of money the ministers have garnered, if that is distributed to all of us then we all would have become millionaires! Mamata Banerjee is not concerned of rising vegetable prices, the middleman who belongs to Trinamool manipulate the prices by stockpiling. It’s going on for some time and one seems to bother?

Bengal border with Bangladesh is open 24 hours and Muslims have unrestricted entry. Hindu tax payer’s money is spent on Muslim’s education and imam’s salary and this is happening when Hindus are slaughtered and raped in Bangladesh and Hindu students in Malaysia have to eat food in the toilets. All of these make me wonder as whether receiving money and benefits from non-believers are not anti-Islamic since Koran hates Hindus and instruct Muslims to kill kaffirs. Probably it’s alright to loot and kill infidels…………. Well may be!!!!!
