The first year Sangh Shiksha Varaga of North Tamil Nadu concluded on May 12 with a grand public function on May 11 at Gudiyatham. The Varga had begun on April 22 with 227
shiksharthis from 19 districts. Veteran Pracharak Shri K Suryanarayana Rao, Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukh Shri Nandakumar, National Executive Member Shri Sethumadhavan, Kshetra Karyavah Shri Rajendran, Kshetra Pracharak Pramukh Shri Govinda, Kshetra Sanghachalak Shri Vanniyarajan guided the shiksharthis during the Varga.

The shiksharthis went on for trekking to Mahadeva Malai for treasure hunt. Gram Samparak to 17 villages of nine nagar made them very enthusiastic. Every day, leaders from various castes, industrialists, and Panchayat lit the lamp organised at the camp. In order to avoid the wastage of water, the used water especially of cooking, bathroom was collected in a 10×10 deep pit so that it could be sent back to the ground. The support to the camp by the local people was overwhelming. About 4,500 persons from 25 villages gave material assistance for conducting the camp.

At the concluding ceremony, an impressive physical demonstration of the skills acquired in the 20 days camp was exhibited by the trainees, despite of heavy rains. Seeing all the swayamsevaks sitting quietly in spite of the rain without stirring, Shri Arunodhayam, a leading businessman who presided over the function and Shri Vijay Kumar, advocate who graced the occasion, showered praises on the RSS.

Shri Arunodhayam said he studied in a school run by Sri Ramakrishna Mission and the Swamiji, who was incharge of the Mission, used to always say that one’s religion is like the blood flowing in us.  As the blood remains the same right from birth to death, similarly one’s religion remains the same and hence one should not involve in conversion. Shri Vijay Kumar said he was impressed by the RSS because of its discipline, work culture and punctuality.

Addressing the gathering senior Pracharak Shri G Baktavatsalam said Gudiyatham and RSS has a binding in the sense that RSS was started in the year 1925 and Gudiyatham was carved out as a town in the same year. As RSS instills patriotism amongst its cadre, Gudiyatham played a major role in preparing ten lakh national flags and dispatched it throughout the country two months before independence, which became an historic event as it was done by 300 people within a period of one month. Further he highlighted the role of RSS in bringing unity amongst the various strata of society, its role in Sri Lanka, how the concept of offering is developed in the Swayamsevaks, etc.

Earlier, Shri Mahesh, who was the Secretary of the camp highlighted the activities of the 20 days camp. Welcome address and introduction was given by Shri L Natarajan, Varga Adhikari of the camp. Shri Ramakrishna Prasad is the Palak Adhikari of the camp. Shri Nagarajan, Vellore Vibhag Karyavah delivered vote of thanks.
