17 when the Pakistani Hindus who fled India last month, narrated the genocidal brutalities committed with them by fanatics in Pakistan at the United Nations office in New Delhi. The Pakistani Hindus staged a demonstration outside UN Office against the violation of their human rights in Pakistan. The demonstration was led by Vishwa Hindu Parishad leaders. Addressing the peaceful demonstration VHP vice president Shri Mahavir Prasad said abduction, rapes, attack on houses and temples and large-scale forced religious conversions are the common atrocities being faced by Pakistani Hindus. They have been forced to live like animals and have been brutally killed at many places. They have only three options, either embrace Islam, leave Pakistan, otherwise get killed. The demonstrators submitted a memorandum to UN Secretary General urging to save their human rights. “Instead of living the cattle life in Pakistan, we would prefer to be killed on Indian soil where we, at least, will get last respect as Hindu, which is not allowed in Pakistan,” said Shri Dharmavir Bagari, who fled from Sind with his family.
The memorandum demanded immediate intervention of UN to curb attacks on Hindus in Pakistan, rehabilitation of minorities in Pakistan as well as those who are forced out of their ancestral homeland. Shri Nahar Singh, the local warden of the Pak Hindus in Delhi and a social worker said until the government gives them proper facilities, he would continue to support the deprived refugees like his family members. More than 200 Pak Hindus, carrying playcards in their hands, raised their voice against Pakistan and also narrated their horrible tales to media and the UN Human Right Watch people.
VHP state vice president Shri Brijmohan Sethi, Bajrang Dal state convener Shri Shiv Kumar and many other leaders also addressed the demonstrators. Twenty year old Jamuna, a Pakistani Hindu, said they could not see any school in Pakistan because of bad elements and compulsory Islamic education. Recalling her old memories with tears, 70 year old Smt Laxmi Devi said, “I could not recall when celebrated Holi or Deepawali in the last 40 years in Pakistan due to the regular warnings and attacks by fanatics.” We do not have the right to even cremate our dead ones.” (FOC)
