Sangh is an instrument of social change and reform ?Bhaiyaji Joshi

"WHAT kind of customs and habits are entering the nation, the society needs to contemplate over it. The female feiticide and many other social evils are taking place due to wrong customs. The entire Hindu society must vow to eradicate them and stand together with conviction to root out all such wrong customs. Eradicating the wrong customs and uniting Hindu society is the answer to all these challenges.

“WHAT kind of customs and habits are entering the nation, the society needs to contemplate over it. The female feiticide and many other social evils are taking place due to wrong customs. The entire Hindu society must vow to eradicate them and stand together with conviction to root out all such wrong customs. Eradicating the wrong customs and uniting Hindu society is the answer to all these challenges. There is a need to put effort in this direction. A collective effort is needed in all these areas,” said RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi while addressing the concluding ceremony of the three-day Gosh training camp in Hyderabad on February 10.

Padmasri Acharya Ella Venkateswara Rao, president of Reception Committee delivered the opening speech. Shri Sirivennela Seetarama Sastri, famous musician, famous Telugu film songs writer participated as chief guest. Shri Jagadish Prasad, Sah Saririk Pramukh, Shri Mangesh Bhende, Ksetra Pracharak, Shri Pyata Venkateswara Rao, Prant Sanghachalak of Paschim Andhra Pradesh, Shri Kishan Reddy, state BJP president and many prominent personalities from the film industry of Andhra Pradesh were also present on the occasion.

Shri Joshi further said keeping only few elections in mind with greed of votes, Hindu society is repeatedly being ignored and maligned. Some even call it terrorism. Some say that because of it there is separatism in society. People say such things merely to please others. They use words like Hindu terrorism or saffron terrorism. A Hindu cannot be a terrorist. If saffron colour is considered the representation of terror group, then all our saints and religious places will be considered the centre of terrorism! I plead that to merely satisfy political aspirations, none should send such incorrect message.

Shri Bhaiyaji said there are separate bands for army, navy and police in the country but there is no band of any service organisation like in the RSS. Perhaps this is unique to RSS in the entire world! The army and police bands play the music taken from other countries. But the Sangh band keeps the Indian music as its base. It is also a very novel and amazing experiment done by the Sangh. He said during the 150th birth anniversary year of Swami Vivekananda we must remember his messages. Swamiji used to say that if Bharat loses values of life then it cannot be preserved in any other part of the world either. And the contribution that Bharat has done to the entire world towards its welfare, for the completion of that process this society has to be strong and united. Taking this goal the Sangh has been working for the last 86 years. Today when we see that there are efforts to weaken this society by different forces of the world — it is not a new matter that has come up today only; it has been happening since several hundred years; invaders have kept attacking this land and the people of the land, they tried to destroy this culture! he said the people responsible for protecting the nation’s pride are narrow minded and communal. Today, when we celebrate Hindu festivals with peace we are surrounded with doubts — Diwali, Ganesha festival, Durga Puja — there is an environment of fear! How will we celebrate these festivals? If they are not celebrated in Bharat then where else? For a place of devotion, central to our belief system, the centre of our pride and source of our inspiration — the effort to preserve it cannot be termed communal! Unnecessarily, for political selfishness, to destroy Hindu pride, being narrow-minded, and standing against democracy what do we desire? We should analyze and introspect.

“I believe if the fields of art, literature and education are healthy, the people will imbibe good values. If they are weak, it gives way to deformity. We should think that the society goes to regeneration and not degeneration. For it, we do not want to blame any external force. External forces will unceasingly try to disturb the harmony of the nation. But does society understand the challenge? Does it want to come forward to address the challenges,” he said. Chanakya once said: The harm to our nation, done by foreign invaders is much less than what has been inflicted because of inactivity of the good forces in the nation. Today there is a need that the good thoughts should be nurtured and grown – not be kept dormant, it should not be limited to an individual either, it should unite together the society as a strong force and destroy all the forces that are creating differences. That is why society, politics, economic system, education system must be aligned with the nation’s traditions and culture. People thinking along these lines should come forwards and contribute, Shri Bhaiyaji said.
