RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat said the UPA government’s decision to allow FDI in multi-retail would put the country’s food security at risk. He warned the UPA government not to hit the livelihood of crores of small retailers and traders. Shri Bhagwat was addressing a gathering of swayamsevaks and Sangh well-wishers at the Science College Grounds of Raipur on December 9.

Shri Bhagwat further said the WalMart, which proved to be a total failure in the US, is now being imposed on the Indians. “How can a company, which failed in America, be beneficial for the Indians? It will now purchase the good from us and will sell them again to us on higher prices. In this way the Indian money will go to the foreign countries,” he said.

Warning the policymakers of the growing influence of Bangladeshi infiltrators in politics of north-eastern states, Shri Bhagwat said the ‘unwanted elements’ from across the border have takenover the government in Assam. “The infiltrators enroll their names in the voters’ list and influence the politics in the country. They have accessed the power to run government in states like Assam,” he said stressing upon doing proper demarcation of international borders so that it becomes easy to keep an eye on the illegal influx into the country.

Expressing concern over the plight of Hindus, especially in Pakistan, he said shelter should be granted to the Hindu families coming from other countries. “People, particularly Hindu families, who have been facing atrocities and who wish to settle here, should be given shelter as per the Indian traditions,” he said adding that except India there is no other country for Hindus in the world. They are forced to migrate from their countries to save their religion and social dignity. Besides, there should be some provision to put pressure on that country (abroad) to ensure the safety of Hindu people in their land, he said. (FOC)
