$img_titleWhen “silence” means “timidity, complacency and intellectual dishonesty” (Organiser, 30.9.2012);This refers to ‘When “silence” means “timidity, complacency and intellectual dishonesty” , by Dr Jay Dubashi in Organiser. He has squarely described the scams and thefts of the national assets by Congress rulers, including Nehru, and has correctly concluded that, “ It must be said that this is the usual Congress practice—you permit your men to loot the country, while you (i.e. Prime Ministers) look the other way.” After Partition of India in 1947, power to rule truncated India came in the hands of “followers of Gandhi”, who had gone on fast unto death to ensure that Muslims, who had created a separate homeland for  themselves, do not go to Pakistan, and act as very reliable ‘vote-bank’ for all the times to come, for the Congress Party, headed by Nehru at that time. It could be very well be seen that this Muslim vote-bank supports Congress and its allies like Laloos and Mulayams, whether they loot, break or burn the country. From 1947 to now, this Muslim vote-bank has  almost doubled its  strength in term of percentage of population, and is further increasing at a very fast speed, as Muslims produce more children, and there is no check on infiltration  of Bangladeshi Muslims, who are given ration cards and enrolled as voters. This is the basic reason why Congress leaders and Congress Prime Ministers look the other way,  and permit their men to loot the country. Thus Muslim vote-bank is the biggest reason for such behaviour of the Congress. If Muslims are defranchised and their votes completely eliminated, Congress Party would fall  badly in no time. We can also say that Gandhi is responsible for creating this situation.

Protests over Kudankulam totally a Church affair(Organiser, 14.10.2012); This refers to Rajindra Prabhu’s letter ‘Protests over Kudankulam totally a Church affair’, in the Reader’s Forum page of Organiser. Shri Prabhu has come out in favour of Church which has been leading fishermen’s agitation against the nuclear power plant at Kudankulam due to likely hazards as happened at Fukushima in Japan. It should be noted here that there were no protests for it, when its foundation was laid about ten years back. The country’s noted scientist Dr APJ Abdul Kalam had gone  there to inspect the adequacy of inbuilt safety measures and related equipments. His assessment was positive with certain suggesions. Will it be worthwhile to abandon the project after spending about 14,000 crore of tax payers money? The Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority has again done a complete check-up of the project and have given some suggestions which government needs to look into,  to make it hazard free. Shri Prabhu must remember that in India already a number of nuclear power plants are in operation. Then why such agitation only for Kudankulam power plant. The moot point is that  the Church has not been positive towards the project and fishermen have followed the path shown by it. Even to day they  are agitating. Our Prime Minister has already pointed out the interference of foreign-funded NGO’s in the project. Church should look into the problem with a view to make the project viable in the interest of the country i.e. generation of power and safety of  residents around. The agitation  should  be withdrawn forthwith. Lot of time has been already wasted.

Horse-trading spiral (Organiser, 30.9.2012); This  refers to ‘Horse-trading spiral’, ‘Periscope’, in Organiser. Mamata Banerjee deserves to be appreciated for opposing anti-people  policies of the UPA government. The Congress led UPA failed to read the writing on the wall. The party should  have learnt its lesson when Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee opposed tooth and nail, the increase in railway fares a few months ago and the government had to roll back the hike. If the increase in diesel prices and  FDI in multi-brand retail trade are necessary evils, the government should have taken all coalition partners as well as Opposition parties into confidence. Further the Congress is facing  increasing trouble  from within too.  One  of its key allies, the DMK will be joining the non-BJP opposition sponsored bandh in Tamil Nadu to protest against the very same decisions which led to Mamata Banerjee’s  revolt. Another UPA constituent, the Nationalist Congress Party, has had an uneasy relationship with the  Congress and matters came to the brink a couple of months ago when it appeared that the NCP would withdraw its ministers from the ruling UPA. Under such conditions let’s see till when UPA will survive.

‘Poodle doodle’ :

Washout domestically, a spectre of ridicule internationally (Organiser, 16.9.2012); This is  with reference to the front page article in Organiser,  titled,  ‘Poodle doodle’: Washout domestically a spectre of ridicule internationally’. Our unworthy PM de facto and de jure  puppet of  Italian Miano has been badly lampooned by foreign media. Washington Post  described this corrupt and inefficient character (Manmohan Singh) as ‘Tragic’. Times magazine lampooned him as ‘under achiever’ meaning a failed PM, the newspaper Independent  called  this inactive man as ‘Sonia’s ‘Poodel’  meaning  Sonia s slave. ‘Google’ called the Sonia Gandhi-Manmohan Singh team a “Poodle doodle” meaning a  scoundrel  character.  As on today neither Sonia  nor Manmohan has demanded any apology from these foreign media. Nor any of the media has tendered any apology. The tragedy is that Manmohan is wooing foreign leaders but getting bad name. It is a clear cut case of treason that, while the nation is suffering from  economic problems and crunch of foreign deposits Manmohan  Singh has announced a 40 billion contribution to IMF  but neither debt-wrecked 17-nation Euro zone nor any of its media acknowledged this,  because  of the corrupt and tragic record of Manmohan Singh. While India is suffering from funds crunch and  unable  to provide minimum infrastructure facility to needy industrial centres Manmohan  is giving  away this scarce resource to thankless foreigners. The CAG report over the coal block allocation had said the loss was Rs 1.86 lakh crore but now the latest  report says the loss is more than Rs 4,000 crores  and directly Manmohan Singh is responsible for this national loot. Though Congress is trying to buy peace  from national media it has failed; now even at  international level Congress has failed to woo foreign leaders. Instead rising against corruption Manmohan Singh coined it as “Coalition Compulsion” but this trick has failed because Manmohan Singh is himself directly involved in Coalgate Scam. Had any home media made any negative  comment GoI would has immediately taken stringent action against it but Congress is silent over the drastic comments against our PM in the international media.

The making of a familist (Organiser, 15.7.2012); I fully agree with the views in Family Folio, Organiser,  by Mridula Sinha in her article ‘The making of a familist’. It is true that in our ancient  concept man and  woman are treated as the two  wheels of one chariot. One  cannot even imagine the existence of one without the other. Man and woman have been considered as inseparable partners  of life. Nature itself has made them  complimentary to  each other. But the feminist organisations and activists  are putting men in the dock. They have raised battle fields in the society on the basis of exceptional cases of bad and cruel behaviour with the bride in the society in some places here and there. And due to there influence and pressure our Government has also enacted laws such as 498 A and Domestic Violence Act, without any provision to check the misuse of these Acts. The  government agency  NCRB had  reported recently that 98 per cent cases registered us u/s 448A IPC are proved to be false in the  trial court.  But  still our Government  is still adamant not to amend those laws for the safeguard of innocent victims (men and women both). It is  only due to the  pressure of the feminist elements who seem to be bent upon  to destroy the sacred relationship between man and woman in the society. I fully agree with the view that in our ancient concept family is the first unit of society and not man or woman. Whereas in the name of women’s protection, the government has enacted only daughter-in- laws protection law which is being misused  in large number of cases as per NCRB report. Individual should work hard for the betterment of not only woman,  but also for the family. There should be a series of counselling (at least 3 or 4) before filing the case in u/s 498A in the trial court.

A faithful guide to believers (Organiser, 7.10.2012); This is with reference to the review of the book: Hindu Gods and Goddesses in Organiser. When the absolute truth is  that there is only one almighty God, why do we need to see him in different forms? Rama, Krishna or Jesus were born as human beings and died as such. It is His only choice to appear in person or adopt any form to give audience to a devotee. Who are we to sculpture his idols or carve out his images? The author of the book under review seems to be a German Christian. It appears his rationale to justify Hindu trinity (Brahma, Shiva and Mahesh) is to bring his readers to agree with the concept of Christian trinity.

Demand for bifurcation of Karnataka This refers to the comments of Karnataka State Minister of Agriculture, Umesh Katti(from North Karnataka Constituency),that as Suvarna Vidhana Soudha is being established in Belgaum, Karnataka State can be bifurcated in to North and South Karnataka respectively. His contention must be right, because in all these more than five decades of formation of Karnataka State, the question arises what has the State government contributed towards North Karnataka? Almost nil! We find not less than 80 per cent of the Industries (State and Central government and Private Sector) of the Karnataka State are housed in Bengaluru district alone. No proper job representation for the people of North Karnataka in State and Central Government departments in the State including private sector, no development of infrastructure of any kind anywhere, and when this is the situation prevailing since half a century how come anyone will not develop cynical attitude towards the State governance,in such a case, why blame only Umesh Katti? Today Bengaluru has become a hub of outsiders and we fear it may also cross limits of Mumbai in this regard. Consequences are that the urban and rural gap is increasing since there is no proportionate development throughout the State which is not a healthy  sign. Hence ultimately every one will opt for a separate independent state for the development of their region. Today for the reasons Telangana is reeling for a separate independent state, the situation may prevail in Karnataka also, if things get out of control this way, when meagre funds meant for the development of district places in Karnataka State are diverted towards building infrastucture of the State capital Bengaluru only. Let us bear in mind that states like Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and Chattisgargh were formed for the same reasons.

Perpetrators go scot free From the 1984 anti-Sikh riots to the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits, from  the 2002 Gujarat riots to the recent clash between Bodos and Muslims in Assam,  violence in the name of religion and community is not new in our country. However it is appalling that every time the  government fails to ensure that such incidents are not  repeated. To top it all, the perpetrators of such targeted crimes go scot free while politicians make political capital. In the end the common man is left to fend for himself.

RITHA SAGAR, Chennai

Practice what you preach BJP has been asked by the Union Minister Kapil Sibal  to listen to the advice made by Arun Shourie in respect of recent hike in diesel price and most controversial FDI issue. Arun Shourie has defended the act of UPA government. If so is Sibal is prepare to tell his Congress Party and UPA government to impeach the Controller and Auditor General of India Vinod Rai if his report was wrong and prejudice as suggested by the BJP leader Dr Murli Manohar Joshi?
