BLAMING the UPA government for negative style of governance in view of the steep hike in diesel prices and 6 cylinder’s cap on cooking gas, the VHP questioned, “The Government blames global crude oil prices for hikes in Bharat. There has not been much fluctuation in the global prices past three months. Yet exactly before majority Hindu festivals–Ganesh Chaturthi, Navaratri, Paryushan, Shradh, Diwali, etc. such hike has been implemented, whereas the recent minority festival went without this burden on them. It is a clear discrimination on religious grounds and is anti-constitutional.”
“Agreed that the price hike applies to all in Bharat, but education, jobs, loans, professional training/courses, etc of the Hindus are not subsidised by the government, whereas it is done for a particular minority. Therefore, the diesel hike and 6 cylinder per year cap will adversely impact the majority as they will have to shell out more money—school bus to vegetables and then for education to travel,” said VHP working president Dr Pravin Togadia.
Dr Togadia blamed the government for not exploring alternatives for energy and vehicle fuel, which is available in Bharat in the form of natural sun light, wind, running water, traditionally used herbs, etc.
