Torch-bearer

Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar

Children and teenagers are like buds of flowers, feed them with Hedgewar’s good thoughts.

Feed them on quality education and they would turn into a valley of flowers.

Their smile brings spring and tears the monsoon.

They are the hope and future, if they are allowed to bloom.

Very lucky we were, to have Hedgewar at the helm, who had vision for country and pure love for them.

He worked tirelessly, to bring cheer in their lives.

By quality health care he made education a delight.

No wonder we the children, remember him on first day of year.

And we know on this first day of Vikrami Samvat according to Hindu culture, Dr. Keshavrao Baliram Hedgewar was our best philosopher.

$img_titleIndia should not become  a tool for West’s hegemony in West Asia
(Organiser, 26.2.2012);  This refers to the front page article, ‘India should not become a tool for West’s hegemony in West Asia’ by Rajeev Sharma in Organiser . In my opinion, United States has been very humane in dealing with West Asia and Arab countries. If  it were the other way round, with Muslims as powerful as the USA is, and the USA as weak as the Muslim countries are, the Muslims would have completely destroyed and finished USA and West, and would have told them to either accept Islam or death. As the things are, Islamic world is hostile not only to USA and Israel, but counts India also as its biggest enemy. It is in the national interest of India to cooperate with the West on the issue of Iran policy. After all Iran is not giving India free oil. India must  control its oil consumption by all possible means, including road vehicles, which are causing so much pollution in cities. And the foreign exchange wasted in burning oil, can be well utilised for defence and other productive items. After all, the West has never  been hostile to India, although while  watching their own national  interests, they have been helping Pakistan. Whereas entire Islamic world has been pro-Pakistan, so much so, that even mini countries like Maldives, which has been getting so generous help from  India, becomes pro-Pakistan on the issue of Kashmir. Even Bangladesh, which got freedom from Pakistan only due to the help given by India, is anti-India and pro-Pakistan.

Farce and truth about stashed away black money (Organiser, 26.2.2012);  This is with reference to the  editorial ‘Farce and truth about  stashed away black money’ in Organiser. There is no farce but all truth about the  stashed away black  money of UPA leaders in various foreign  banks including  Swiss Bank. More than 25 lakh crore of politically embezzled black money is being kept in Swiss Bank. Any campaign against this black money is usurped by Congress or is delayed till infinity. We all know that Baba Ramdev seriously started campaign against this black money. UPA planned to kill him leaving  all  the norms of democracy, human rights,  ethics and morality, etc. Lawyer Ram Jethmalani is  fighting a case for the  revelation of names of Swiss Bank  account holders. Shri Subramanian Swamy has publicly mentioned the name of  Sonia Gandhi,  holding a large amount  of  black money in Swiss Bank.  I have  been continuously stating   that only names of the looters have changed, modus operandi has  changed but our unfortunate nation is being looted since the past 1,000 years. The founders of this loot were Mughals then a big list followed, example East India Company, Portuguese, French, Dutch and now Congress. Unemployment, poverty, illiteracy enables these looters to spend some money and come back to power and again to loot the nation. This vicious  circle should be stopped. We all should unite together and politically finish these looters. This is  the only way out. Let us hope our slumbering electorates would rise in near  future and teach these scoundrels and traitors a good lesson. It is very shameful to see that the same Congress which gave two Islamic theocracies  as a gift to Pan Islamic forces is now ready to gift nefa to Pan Christian forces is coming to power  against  and again,  and looting  India. Hope your editorial will open the eyes of our so-called secular and patriotic Indians. I also endorse your views that India is waiting for a ‘Bhagirath’ which will bring prosperity by  binging back this black money.

Bhagwad Gita is the heart and soul of the great Indian civilisation (Organiser, 1.1.2012); Please refer to the issue of Bhagwad Gita taken up by you  in your esteemed weekly. It is very unfortunate to  know that any insignificant person of an European country erupts like an unnecessary volcano and knocks the remotely controlled judiciary. Bhagwad Gita is  not only a celebrated Hindu scripture but admired all over the  globe for its spiritual and practical tone. Whosoever knows Sanskrit  is delighted to read its text as the finest poetry, its  rhythmic melodiousness and meaning par excellence. Infact its translated versions are also par excellence. No doubt our foreign minister’s intervention compelled the Russian court to reject the petition  challenging the Bhagwad Gita. But  I was ashamed to read in the newspapers  that Girish Karnard, a Karnataka based film personality has objection over Gita for making it a part of course in schools and colleges. His undertone is very poisonous not worthy of a secular personal of his quality. He  has also condemned the Brahmins  as he feels they are responsible for spreading communalism.

Rahul fails in UP too (Organiser, 18.3.2012); This  is with reference to Shyam Khosla’s article, ‘Rahul fails in UP too’ in Organiser.  In his election rallies, Rahul Gandhi blamed Mayawati for  promoting graft in UP, forgetting that the UPA is neck-deep in corruption. However the Samajwadi Party’s overwhelming victory in the 2012 Assembly elections in UP is a proof that the people are fed up with the Congress rule at the Centre. The anger against the party and the government is justified since the Congress has been unable to check the escalation of prices of essential items as well as provide people with new employment opportunities. In fact, the election results were a blow to the Congress.   Hopefully, this loss will push  the Congress to rework its strategies and work for the welfare of the people.

Mukesh Upadhyaya, Kanpur

Can’t fool everyone all the time It is time  the Congress should come out of the Nehru-Gandhi legacy and focus their energies on good governance. It  was the Congress’s failure at the Centre that had a negative impact on its performance in Uttar Pradesh. It’s leaders must realise that it is increasingly becoming difficult to fool voters with false promises since  they are now clued into what is happening within the party and at the national level.

Bharat Arora, Mayur Vihar-1

A suggestion I have a suggestion to all the voters of Bharat for the coming general elections which will be held in 2014. If they want to see Bharat  prosper, we must take an oath that we shall only vote for those parties and candidates who talk of development and not those who seek to divide society on the basis of caste and religion. The voters should exercise their choice not only with emotions but also with an application of mind. We have had enough of corruption and years of poor governance. Let us get rid of the parties that have only one agenda: Secure votes by fanning tensions among the people and dividing them, in which UPA is expert.

VINOD SHARMA, Kolkata

Congress imposing its ideology on children Union Minister for Human Resource and Development Kapil Sibal’s  proposal to establish a National Textbook Council deserves to be spiked immediately because it is a thinly disguised attempt to impose the  will of the Congress on what schools across the country should teach their students. Kapil Sibal wants schools to become organs  of propaganda for his party, which is not possible.  According to him the  Central Board of Secondary Education’s curricula does not have material which is insidious in nature, but that reasoning is only a ruse for the Congressisation of education in the country. If he is really  concerned about  the standard of education he must focus his attention on the functioning of the National Council of Educational Research and Training which is primarily responsible for the quality of education countrywide. Schools have traditionally been under the administrative control of the  respective State governments education boards which finalises the syllabus based on various parameters, including specific needs of their  respective states. By seeking to encroach on the right of the states to monitor the content of school textbooks, Sibal is effectively proposing to destroy autonomy guaranteed by the Indian Constitution to its citizens.
