NEW ROUND-UP-4

Senior RSS activist and Sambhag Karyavah of Arunachal Pradesh, Rutum Kamgo, passed away in a tragic road accident near Silapathar, Assam, over NH52 on November 5. He is survived by his wife and two school going sons. His death is a major loss to Arunachal’s RSS unit and also to the indigenous faith movement.

An OTC trained swayamsevak Rutum Kamgo belonged to Kamba village under West Siang district of Arunachal. Since 15 years, he lived a dedicated life for the growth of Sangh work in this hilly Himalayan State that shares its boundary with China occupied Tibet, Myanamar and Bhutan. The preservation of Arunachal’s rich indigenous faith was what he was committed to. He was also the convenor of Indigenous Faith and Culture Society of Arunachal Pradesh. Earlier he also worked for Vidya Bharati, Sewa Bharati and VHP. Kamgo died while he was on his way to attend an important meeting at Pasighat as part of the preparation for January 2012 Shivir to be attended by RSS Sarsanghcahalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat. He was accompanied by Shri Tadam Taki, another swayamsevak, who had done his OTC this year itself from Delhi. In his condolence message RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat described Kamgo’s tragic death as an irreparable and inconsolable loss to his family as well as to the Sangh work. “The words fail and no measure can recuperate the loss, but we have to face the situation and support the families to shoulder the duties which the departed had to leave incomplete. May God bestow the necessary courage on all of us and enlighten the path of the departed,” Shri Bhagwat said.
