Special issue of Kamal Sandesh on Nationalism, Good Governance and Development released on Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya’s birthday

Deendayalji is a role model for  politicians — LK Advani

“Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya always favoured value-based politics. He is role model for the people in public life. Being the true followers of Deendayalji we have to set an example of transparency and clean politics through our conduct,” said senior BJP leader Shri LK Advani while remembering Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya on his birth anniversary in New Delhi on September 25.

Former BJP president and chairman of Dr Mookerjee Smriti Nyas Shri M Venkaiah Naidu, Madhya Pradesh BJP president and editor of Kamal Sandesh Shri Prabhat Jha, organising secretary of BJP Shri Ramlal and other office bearers of the Nyas were also present. Some eminent personalities of Delhi including Shri Kidarnath Sahni, Dr JS Rajput, Shri RK Ohri, Mayor of Delhi Prof. Rajni Abbi, etc also graced the occasion.

Shri Advani also released the special issue of Kamal Sandesh on Nationalism, Good Governance and Development. The two volume issue has been published in Hindi and English. The English volume has 320 pages while the Hindi volume has 300 pages. Each volume has been priced at Rs 200. The special issue consists of 42 articles by eminent writers and ideologues including Shri P Parameshwaran, Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, Shri Rajnath Singh, Shri Arun Jaitely, Shri Jagmohan, Dr Subhash Kashyap, Justice (retd) Dr M Rama Jois, Dr JS Rajput, Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Shri OP Kohli and Shri RK Ohri etc.

Talking about his association with Deendayal Upadhyayaji, Shri Advani said that his latest yatra, which is to begin from Sitabdiara in Bihar on October 11, is for ‘clean governance and value-based politics’. “My yatra is not just for good governance and development as someone has here mentioned. But it is for clean politics also,” he said adding that he received the inspiration to conduct this yatra from the latest developments regarding corruption and bringing back the black money stashed away in foreign banks by some Indians.

“The money that the British looted from India in hundreds of years was not more than one lakh crore rupees. But now after Independence our own people have looted over Rs 70 lakh crore and deposited in the foreign banks. The sincere efforts that should have been made to bring back this money by the government were never made. During my proposed yatra I will focus on this issue also,” Shri Advani added.

Referring to the journey of Bharatiya Jansangh he said the organisation suffered heavy loss of leadership in the initial days. “First we lost Dr Mookerjee, then Dr Raghubir and then Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya. No political organisation has suffered such a loss of ideologues in its initial days itself,” he said.

Speaking at the function Shri M Venkaiah Naidu said the message that the party workers received from the founding ideologues is that the ‘country is first, party is second and myself always last. “Deendayalji was for value-based politics and we have to follow those ideals in our daily conduct,” he said. Explaining the good governance he said we want a government which is caring, accountable, takes care of all needs of the nation and is run on good values. He described the present UPA government as the worst government. He said the proposed yatra of Shri Advaniji would educate people about the good governance and would also expose the bad governance of UPA.
