“SATYANARAIN Bansalji was a swayamsevak. It is the word that describes his whole personality and there is no need to prefix an adjective with it,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat while paying tribute to former Delhi Prant Sanghachalak Satyanarain Bansal at a condolence meeting organised at Keshav Kunj in New Delhi on February 27. Bansalji (84) had passed away on February 19, following age-related illness.

Describing Bansalji as ‘an ideal Sanghachalak who had good understanding of the organisation and the workers’ Shri Bhagwat said a Sanghachalak is palak of the Sangh and he can run the organisation smoothly if he has the feeling of atmiyata towards the co-workers. “Bansalji had all these qualities. After meeting him one felt like meeting his family member,” he said.

“Paying tribute to Shri Guruji, former Sarsanghachalak the late Balasaheb Deoras had said that one who is seen equal from far and near is indeed a sadpurush. I can say it for Bansalji,” Shri Bhagwat said. Talking about the changing situations in the country he said the swayamsevaks need to be more vigilant and alert today than the previous time. “Both their thinking and action require greater attention. The thinking of Bansalji was always on the same pattern. He used to convey serious message to the workers even in small sentences. For us he was an advisor. He lived a very grateful (kartarth) life. There is no need to mourn his passing away. Rather his ideals should be emulated and followed in practical life. This is what we should do now,” Shri Bhagwat added.

Uttar Kshetra Sanghachalak Dr Bajrang Lal Gupt recalled his 35 years association with Bansalji and said he used to have a very frank and relevant opinion on every issue. “Despite being a businessman he thought deeply on different issues. He used to emphasise that the Sangh work should touch all sections of the society and the workers should not feel demorlise in any circumstances. At the later stage of his life he became physically weak. Neither he could see properly nor could walk alone. Even in that situation his mental balance was perfect and he devoted time to the Sangh work,” he said.

Former governor of Goa and Sikkim Shri Kidarnath Sahni described Bansalji ‘a personality with extraordinary talent’. “He was very close to the then Prant Pracharak Basantrao Oakji. Once Oakji left the Sangh, but Bansalji stayed. This shows that he was committed to the organisation and the objective and not to an individual. He presented an ideal before all the workers that we work for an objective and how we should be committed to that objective. He was very soft spoken and whatever responsibility he was entrusted with he held it perfectly,” Shri Sahni added.

Delhi Prant Sanghachalak Shri Ramesh Prakash Sharma said, “Whenever I had any difficulty I visited him and he guided me like a guardian. He used to say-don’t be a judge rather be an advocate of the workers”.

Senior Advocate of Supreme Court Shri Ramphal Bansal, Shri Govind Vyas of Delhi Hindi Sahitya Sammlen and Shri Sushil Gupta of Dharmpura Pachchisi, Chandni Chowk also paid tribute. Shri Mahesh Chand Sharma of Delhi Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Mayor of Delhi Shri Prithviraj Sawhny, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Dr Manmohan Vaidya, senior Sangh Pracharak Shri Suryakrishan, Shri Ishwardas Mahajan, Kshetra Karyavah Shri Sitaram Vyas, senior Pracharak Shri Sohan Singh and others paid floral tribute.
