“THE way our places of veneration and saints are being targeted by the alien forces, the Hindu society must rise above the differences of caste and creed to foil these conspiracies. Since no part of our body can be said inferior or useless, therefore no section among Hindus is inferior. All Hindus are one and untouchability has no place among us,” said Kalika Peethadhishwar Mahant Surendranath Avadhoot, He was speaking at the birth anniversary celebration of Pt Jaikumar Sharma, the director of Bhavya Jagjanani Darbar in Loni, Ghaziabad on February 8.

Citing the example of Sri Ram Shri Avadhoot said he presented an ideal of eradicating untouchability and uniting the society before all of us. “Saints are the mobile pilgrimage centres. Just having darshan of them removes all our sins,” he said. Mahamandaleshwar Shri Raghvanand Saraswati presided over the function.

Speaking at the 15th annual function of the Darbar on February 11, Jagadguru Shankara-charya Jyotishpeetha-dhishwar Swami Madhvasharam Maharaj expressed concern over the growing number of elder people in old age homes and attributed it to the influence of western culture. He said we should not expect good samskars among our children if we keep them away from saints and temples right from the young age.

Speaking at the function, Pt Jaikumar Sharma, who is popularly known as Jalwale Guruji, said if we wish to impart good samskars to the younger generation we must concentrate on their daily routine, dress, language, and also the meals they take every day.

Presenting the annual report of the Darbar, joint secretary Shri Shyam Verma pointed out that more than one lakh people abandoned addiction after visiting the Darbar and more than 17 lakh devotees visited the Darbar so far.
