THIS book aims at enhancing the managerial effectiveness of individuals by citing factors and practices that create effectiveness in managers.
Who is a manager? A manager is one who gets things done to fulfil the goal set for him by the organisation, department, top management, superiors or bosses. He understands and interprets his goals. He chalks out an action plan and mobilises the resources at his command and these could be in the form of men, materials, money or budgets and other support systems required to achieve them. He then sets about achieving his goal, monitoring the progress along the way. Though managers have been there since ages running their organisations, but over time, though the duties of the manager may continue to be the same, they have to adjust to some of the changes that impact the workplace today.
In the end, the book looks at the different leadership styles a manager can work with and the motivations that push them. A good manager will live his life fully, actively and serve others and leave something for the rest of the world. -MG
