A function was organised in Jashpur Nagar school of Kalyan Ashram on November 15 to observe the birth anniversary of great Vanvasi freedom Birsa Munda. Speaking on the occasion principal of the school Shri Basudev Ram Yadav said Birsa Munda united the Vanvasis to fight against the British government. He was not only a freedom fighter but also a social activist. He started many good traditions to improve the life-standard of the people.
More than 10,000 people participated in the function. Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included former Minister in the Chhattisgarh Government Shri Ganesh Ram Bhagat, Kalyan Ashram general secretary Shri Gunwant Singh Kothari, advocate Shri Ramprakash Pandey and Shri Nathuram Bhagat of Janjati Suraksha Manch.
