“WE should be conscious about the use of our mother tongue in daily life. Dr Ambedkar wanted to make Sanskrit the national language of the country since it is the mother of all Indian languages. There are only two lakh words in English while the Sanskrit has over 50 lakh words,” said former RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri KS Sudarshan. He was releasing a book, Matribhasha, in Jaipur on October 24. The book is published by Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh.
Citing the example of Mustafa Kemal Pasha of Turkey who replaced Latin with Turkey language in his country, Shri Sudarshan said when Kemal Pasha was told that it would require at least ten years to implement Turkey in the country, he ordered that imagine it is the last day of the tenth year and we have to implement the Turkey from tomorrow itself. This is how from the very next day Turkey was replaced with Latin all over Turkey. Shri Sudarshan said the Hindi could not achieve a prestigious place in our country due to the wrong policies of the politicians. There are two groups in the society-one resides in the cities which represents India while the other resides in villages, which represents Bharat.
Introducing the book, Prof. Santosh Pandey stressed the need that primary education should be in mother tongue only. He said the Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh has launched a nationwide campaign for this objective and many activities including symposiums, press conferences, book publishing, etc. are being conducted so that the message should reach the maximum people. He said every person associated with the educational activities wants that the new generation of the country should connect itself with the Indian culture and should also feel proud of it. The key to this change is only imparting education in mother tongue, he said.
Presiding over the function, former Vice Chancellor of Mahrishi Dayananda University, Ajmer, Prof. Purushottamlal Chaturvedi said the Mahasangh has been working in right direction. He said the educationists world over are unanimous that education should be imparted only in mother tongue. But it is very unfortunate that mother tongues are being continuously neglected in Bharat despite repeated requests and emphasis from the educationists. National general secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh Dr Vimal Prasad Agrawal conducted the proceedings. National organising secretary Shri Mahendra Kapur, vice president Shri JP Singhal, Kshetra Pracharak Shri Durgadas, Kshetra Prachar Pramukh Shri Sanjay Kumar, Jaipur Sahprant Pracharak Shri Shivlahari and editor of Pathey Kan Shri Manakchand Maheshwari were also present on the occasion.
