“RAKSHA Bandhan is a festival that unites and ensures protection. Today we are not safe internally as well as externally. There is crisis all around. Aggressive and expansionist forces are invading us from all sides. The message of Rakshabandhan becomes more relevant in this situation. It a festival that provides us an opportunity to unite and get united,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat during a meeting with noted Jain saint Acharya Jayantsen Suri in Vijayawada on August 24. National president of Tristutik Jain Shwetambar Shri Sangh and treasurer of Madhya Pradesh BJP Shri Chaitanya Kashyap was also present on the occasion. The Acharya is observing ‘Chaturmas’ in Vijaywada.

After seeking blessings of the Jain saint, Shri Bhagwat said since identity of Englishmen is their language, unity in diversity is our identity world over. In the development of individual lies the development of all and in the development of all lies the development of the individual. Thus, people coming from diverse backgrounds have been living together here since centuries. He said India’s prestige has been enhanced due to the cultural values inculcated in us by the sages and rishis of yore. He said the welfare of the world lies in the welfare of Bharat. “Every person born in India is a Hindu,” he said.

Acharya Jayantsen Surishwar said Raksha Bandhan is an auspicious and beautiful occasion to obtain the ‘Navkar’ protective cover. “We should get such a protective cover for ourselves which would ensure our freedom from any bondage. A person who is not free can neither protect the society nor the nation. The festival of Raksha Bandhan is all about abandoning the wrong path, adopting the path of righteousness and nurturing the feeling of fraternity,” the Jain saint said. The Acharya equated Shri Mohan Bhagwat’s life to that of a saint and expressed happiness that under his leadership the RSS is working for the protection of Indian culture.

Shri Chetanya Kasyap said the meeting of two greatest cultural minds of the country is a moment of bliss. He said the Jain saint has been making tireless efforts to make ahimsa a way of life for each and every human being. Earlier, the local Shri Sangh unit felicitated Shri Mohan Bhagwat, Shri Chaitnya Kasyap and local RSS functionaries. (FOC)
