DAXIN Banga unit of the Samskrit Bharati conducted ten Sanskrit speaking classes for two hours daily at ten different places in Kolkata from June 24 to July 4.. More than hundred shiksharthis attended the classes and five teachers taught them Sanskrit through the easy method invented by the Sanskrit Bharati.
A function was organised on the concluding day of the classes. Addressing the gathering Shri Nand Kumar, National Sampark Pramukh of Samskrit Bharati said in ancient India, Sanskrit was the medium of all the books of knowledge like Ayur Veda, the other Vedas, Ramayana, Geeta and Mahabharata, etc. He said each State has a language but Sanskrit is the mother of all languages. So, it is the bounden duty of the people attached to Samskrit Bharati to bring Sanskrit language to its ancient glory and should be so popularised that it becomes the world language. Presiding over the function Prof. Pranab Roy lamented for absence of government efforts to promote Sanskrit.
