THE chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the founder of the now defunct Islamic Sevak Sangh(ISS), Abdul Nasser Madani was issued a non bailable warrant by the Bengaluru Metropolitian Judicial Magistrate Court in the case related to the serial bomb blast in Bengaluru on July 25, 2008.

Madani is the 31st accused in the case. The serial bomb blast had injured several people and killed one.

Abdul Nasser Madani shot in to limelight in Kerala for his vitriolic and explosive speeches directed against the Hindu religion and Hindus as such and was kept in judicial custody in Coimbatore Central Jail for eight years without bail. He was involved in Coimbatore bomb blast case which left 60 people dead . The blast was aimed at the BJP leader LK Advani, but he escaped unhurt as his flight was delayed .

Sources in the Karnataka police told Organiser that Abdul Nasser Madani is charge sheeted in the Bengaluru bomb blast case as he had prior knowledge of the plans to bomb Bengaluru by the South Indian commander of the LeT, Thadiyantavida Naseer who was once a close associate of Madani. The police charge is that Madani did not prevent a major bomb explosion which caused the death of several people.

It may be recalled that Abdul Nasser Madani was primarily responsible for the growing Islamic fundamentalism in Kerala. Madani has however now denied that he had any role to play in Bengaluru bomb blasts .

A senior officer of the Karnataka police while speaking to Organiser over telephone however said that during interrogation Naseer told the officers that he had infact visited their hideout in Coorg prior to the bomb blasts and had complete knowledge of what was supposed to happen in Bengaluru.

It may also be recalled that dreaded Islamist terrorist Sainudeen alias Sathar Bhai who is considered as an expert in bomb making was a frequent visitor to the Madani’s house in Kaloor , Kochi and had infact put his daughter under the care of Madani’s wife Sufiya while the girl was doing her studies at Kochi.

The central intelligence agencies and the National Investigating Agency (NIA) is also closely probing Madani’s recent operations.
