“THERE are attacks on Indians from all quarters— be these attacks in Australia or the terrorist attacks sponsored by neighbouring countries. Our government has failed to take up these issues at the international level forcefully because we have a weak government,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat. He was addressing a gathering of uniformed swayamsevaks and general public in Lucknow on January 10.
He said the Indians cannot live with dignity and self-respect in any part of the world until they have the feeling of self-respect. “We have the example of Israel which does not tolerate any attack on its citizens and gives a befitting reply,” Shri Bhagwat said adding that we are the sufferers because our society is still divided on caste basis.
“Sangh believes in rashtraniti and not in rajniti. We are only concerned about the unity and integrity of the country through nationalist approach,” he said appealing to the youth and others to join the Sangh to serve the nation.
He said the solution to most of the problems the world is facing today lies in the Hindu thinking. “There has been moderate thinking towards all ways of worship in Bharat since the Vedic period, whereas the other ways of worship demonstrated narrow thinking towards others. Those who did not agree with them were even mercilessly punished. In such a situation, only the Hindutva thinking can restore peace, unity, brotherhood and balanced growth in the world. The whole world is today looking at Bharat for guidance and we have to accept that challenge,” Shri Bhagwat said.
Focussing his speech on the openness of the Sangh and dispelling the myth over the activities of the organisation, the RSS Sarsanghachalak said: “Though we don’t do politics, we openly comment on national issues and ideologies concerning the welfare of the people. Our doors are open for everyone and anyone can join us and leave us anytime.” He made it clear that everyone should join the organisation and take part in the endeavour to strengthen the nationalist approach.
“The Indian culture is nothing but the culture of Hindutva and everyone living in this country is a Hindu. Their (Hindus) unity is of paramount importance to keep the country strong,” he said.
On worldwide phenomenon of environmental degradation the Sarsanghachalak said the developed countries are adamant and they do not want to change their bad habits. Their own policies are adversely damaging the environment. The carbon emission through their industries is more than 60 per cent whereas it is just .8 per cent by India. He said the developed countries toady pressurise India because of our weak policies.

Earlier, speaking at a Sadbhavana meeting held at Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Nirala Nagar, on January 9, Shri Bhagwat said, “We all are Hindus and should help each other for our development.” He said no section of the Hindu society should remain weak and the work of creating a discrimination-free society should begin from our own home. He said the Hindu society would not tolerate the tortures of innocents and attack on its places of faith and respect.
